The end was not nigh, and still looking far far away, so here’s the latest thread.

Usual railing rules apply: all rails or good news welcome, no nauseating positivity or resilience wankery. 😃

Im not sticking up for all the cafes out there but i genuinely think a lot of folk have no idea of the current guidelines. Its like its easier to keep doing whats been happening rather than update and train the staff on the latest stuff.

WouldBeGood · 22/08/2021 19:32

Thanks @ssd! It was actually chilled! So I’m cheerier.

I think cafes are struggling as some people are really scared, so they feel they must pander to them to keep custom, which is understandable, but I won’t go to those places, personally

I dont really think people are that scared, not now. I honestly think places now are just making it up as they go along.

ssd · 22/08/2021 19:37

I mean, i work in a large store which claims they have done xyz all through this....and they haven't, but it looks good. If large places are actually implementing the rules what chance does a wee cafe in the sticks have?

ssd · 22/08/2021 19:38

I meant aren't

titsintiers · 22/08/2021 19:46

Where did you go @WouldBeGood?

I know what you mean @ssd I think small businesses are damned if they do and damned if they don't.

WouldBeGood · 22/08/2021 19:48

Ka Pao , just off Byers Road on Glasgow.

It’s small plates of Asian food, and is bustling and cheery, with lovely staff and great food and drinks

Have heard good things from other people. It's on my ever growing list.

WouldBeGood · 22/08/2021 19:56

If you go, the crispy chicken is one of the best things I’ve ever eaten 😃

Agree @ssd I know you’ve regularly posted about how busy your store is too- I just think recovery is so critical that many stores will be turning a blind eye to new rules if customers are willing to come through the doors.
ssd · 22/08/2021 21:00

@OnceUponAWhine, absolutely.

ssd · 22/08/2021 21:01

@WouldBeGood, i knew you'd be a posh west end bird Grin

Haudyourwheesht · 22/08/2021 21:08

Oh, I've been there @WouldBeGood. The food was fab. I'm far from a posh West End bird though. Grin

WouldBeGood · 22/08/2021 21:09

I've been obsessed about checking LFT. Mr G has banned me from doing another one til Wednesday. He says the stress is causing compulsive behaviours where I need to keep doing tests.

At least I see the children at work tomorrow.

WouldBeGood · 22/08/2021 21:11

I’ve never done one, nor has any of my family

I’m posh on paper, but DP was sorely disappointed in my lack of poshness when we got together 🤣

Does anyone know if anything happens if you get the 2nd vaccine then test positive days after?

ssd · 22/08/2021 22:39

I mean is it bad for you or do you feel worse?

ssd · 22/08/2021 22:40

Also if you test positive ,how long is it until you can get the vaccine?

Scottishskifun · 23/08/2021 01:24

@ssd your not fully protected (against hospitalisation to 95%) until approx 2 weeks after your second jab. But thw first gives a reasonable protection and the second of a few days would add to this.

It is person specific to how ill they get but is likely to be milder unfortunately can't say how people feel as some feel awful still even with a mild case.

If you test positive before the second jab then it's a month til after infection period that you can get it this is to allow your body time and ensure its effective. If you do get it between jabs you also basically become triple protected after your second jab (+ 2weeks) as you will have a lot of antibodies kicking around.

Groovee · 23/08/2021 01:56

It's 4 weeks after having Covid before you can have the vaccine. A number of DD's friends tested positive and had to wait to get their first vaccine.

And that is entirely your choice and I respect that.
