I know! I used to live in D&G. Hopeless travel. I think it’s the special SNP curriculum for brainwashing

That could be the class homework
You live in Dunoon.
Plan a route to visit your granny in Golspie by public transport

Scottishskifun · 13/08/2021 11:18

@WouldBeGood

DS was taught in geography that Scotland is a country well served by international transport links, and excellent transport links throughout the country when you arrive …
😂 That teacher might want to come a bit further north with our one a day bus service (with 6 hours apart for the return journey) to the next biggest town only 15 miles away!

Or, Jamie has £10 and 6 hours available, describe why he can't go and visit his granny.
TheGenealogist · 13/08/2021 11:29

Apart from those arriving in Stranraer who have to navigate the A75 to the border?

Or anywhere north of Inverness? Or any of the country west of Perth and north or that really?

TheGenealogist · 13/08/2021 11:31

Or closer to home:

Senga lives in Milngavie. Explain, with written examples, why Scotrail keep cancelling the trains, leaving her stranded in Hyndland?

GoldenOmber · 13/08/2021 11:35

Last time I went to D&G on public transport it was quickest to go via England!

GrinGrinGrin I'm thinking "senga" does not live in MilngavieHmm
ElephantOfRisk · 13/08/2021 11:37

we could have a whole thread of these! :o

Hugh and Mary pay nearly £300 a month council tax, why do they only get their bins picked up once a month?

Gary was promised a new bike, where is Gary's bike?

Erin has spent the last 7 weeks with 30 teenagers in her livingroom, why does she need a mask to sit in the classroom with the same teenagers?

shouldistop · 13/08/2021 11:38

@latissimusdorsi I was going to say that but was afraid of sounding snobby GrinGrin

WouldBeGood · 13/08/2021 11:40

Yes!

Wouldbegood lives an hour from a station; there are no buses; her car has broken down; but she must be in Edinburgh for half nine a.m. Troed to explain this to central belt HQ one day 😂

Or
Explain, with diagrams and costings, why it took 5 yrs to plan and build a bridge across the Forth but the A9 upgrading to dual carriageway from Perth to Inverness started in 1976 and is not yet finished

ElephantOfRisk · 13/08/2021 11:40

Billy is 4, he's just started school, he told the teacher that he is a girl, billy got to call himself Lucy and wear a pinafore. Explain why when Tommy told the teacher he was a dog he wasn't allowed to call himself Rover and bark all day?

WouldBeGood · 13/08/2021 12:21

I really hope the SG reads this 😂😂

Oh @ElephantOfRisk absolutely nailed it
Sausagema · 13/08/2021 12:41

Fife council have put out a letter stating that even though we are beyond level zero, nothing,NOTHING is changing in our schools for at least 6 weeks as “most children are unvaccinated” yes because there’s no evidence so far that suggests vaccinating kids makes any fucking difference. I am shaking with rage. Shaking. The government do not give a fuck about children.

OnceUponAWhine · 13/08/2021 12:49

It’s outrageous @Sausagema and the fact there’s a nicely leaked story today to distract from the return to school with the same conditions, makes me so mad.

Perhaps the children should be identifying as ‘vaccinated humans’ for their return to school- no teacher is allowed to question it then…

ElephantOfRisk · 13/08/2021 13:25

Sadly, what all this has shown governments is that they can pretty much do anything and people will comply. Oh yes there will be some moaning and maybe a protest or two that they can manipulate media to downplay, but essentially they can implement anything and get away with it. All designed to homogenise society and eradicate personal agency. Such things as fitting all vehicles with speed limiters linked to limits so the vehicles cannot go over the speed limit, directing that all vehicles must be serviced for their lifetime by the dealership for the car, putting all small garages out of business in one fell swoop and removing choice from consumers etc etc etc. I only wish I was joking.

Ladylunchalot · 13/08/2021 13:59

I thought we were going to be told what is happening with exams for next year by now but nothing, the silence is deafening.
How on earth are teachers meant to prepare for this unknown when the kids are starting back?

Ladylunchalot · 13/08/2021 14:01

@Sausagema same with North Lanarkshire council - emails and posts on Facebook saying yeah we're beyond level 0 but everything is still the same in schools. Utter madness.

Callisto1 · 13/08/2021 14:50

I want to rail about the madness that is our local library.

Finally got round to booking a slot. It's a miserly 15 min!! Admittedly they let us in early because the place was empty. I had to sanitize my 2 year olds hands. There is a ridiculous one way system. And there is nothing to play with or anywhere to sit.

The whole experience was rubbish and it's so much harder with 2 kids when you can't keep one occupied with toys while you help the other choose some books. It used to be such a good way to spend a rainy morning.

IncludeWomenInThePrequel · 13/08/2021 14:54

Or, travel from one end of Fife to the other for your vaccine appointment: it's at 8am on a Saturday and you don't drive.

Hmm
