Over 35s vaccine

Does anybody know if/when this is starting in Scotland? Have done a fair bit of searching but can’t find any info on it but know it’s open for booking in England.

I saw a Facebook thing from Forth Valley saying they are now moving to the age 30 to 39 group and chasing up anyone over 40 to contact them if they haven't been done. Forth Valley has been sitting at about the national average for Scotland in terms of vaccination so is probably a reasonable indication of progress.

RedactedTaeFeck · 18/05/2021 10:49

Just had another read, all in this group should have letters by end May in Forth Valley. The National target is for all adult population to have first dose by end of July.

SeaThroughTheTrees · 18/05/2021 10:53

DS (31) has had his letter. He's Forth Valley.

Ecthelion · 18/05/2021 11:03

Lothians are still working on over 40s apparently. It's going frustratingly slowly - I'm 37 and my friends of the same age from school who now live in England have all been vaccinated now.

Bluesycamore · 18/05/2021 11:03

Oh that’s good to read then. Not seen anything yet for our health board. Maybe Forth Valley are a bit ahead.

I’m 37 and have my vaccine this week NHS Grampian area.

florafoxtrot · 18/05/2021 11:06

Good few friends around 37/38 have had their letters here in NHS Grampian. Randomly I've also got a pal who is 29 who has her letter too.

They also seem to be running local vaccine clinics in a few locations in Aberdeen City for those over 40 so I suspect they are getting those finalised too.

randomsabreuse · 18/05/2021 11:08

I'm 39 and have my vacc tomorrow. Got the letter on Saturday so the letters are a bit slow. Check on

invitations.vacs.nhs.scot/

as it might well be assigned already.

belhaven · 18/05/2021 11:08

Lothians seem to be miles behind. I know late/mid 40s who are having theirs now.

hemhem · 18/05/2021 11:11

Greater Glasgow and Clyde are on 40-45 age group at the moment, likely to be another 3 weeks before 35-40s are invited

mondaywine · 18/05/2021 11:59

45 and 46 in Lothian’s here are we are only getting ours next week. Lots of friends of same age don't have dates yet.

Bluesycamore · 18/05/2021 12:03

Oh no I maybe won’t hold my breath then for any time soon (was hopeful for the next couple of weeks!) as seems like certain health boards are behind. Wonder if it’s to do with age demographics

Anyone know how easy it is to transfer an appointment to a different health board?

Just thinking about students and in particular my own DS2 who will be in a similar position to loads of others. He is away living in halls in Aberdeen. He is registered with GP up there but will be vacating his current address soon and may or may not have a transferring address and might or might not be at home in July when they they will probably be at his age group. So, getting a letter might be an issue as will travelling to Aberdeen just for a jag.

Timper · 18/05/2021 12:15

Not the easiest - although they may have to put a procedure in place with regards to students. I have a friend who has not been living in their health board area during lockdown and their appointment could not be transferred to their new local area and had to travel back into their health board for their jab. They were also told they couldn’t register at a surgery where their temporary home is. They had to get a friend to keep an eye on their property for their appointment being delivered.

Lorelaithe1st · 18/05/2021 12:16

My 35+ year old friends in Grampian have their appointments booked in the last couple of weeks (they used the link from a PP above to check times). I’m in Lothian and I don’t have an appointment yet, annoyingly my husband does but not me Sad he’s only a few months older and we’re both over 35 so no idea what’s going on!

emmathedilemma · 18/05/2021 12:17

I wouldn't hold your breath! I'm mid 40's in Lothian and mine is next Monday but the post has been today and I still don't have a letter (I got it through the missing appointments website).
Now here's a question.....when I got the appointment through the missing appointments enquiry text I went online and looked to reschedule it but there's no availability showing and I've checked a few times. My appointment is actually ok but I was looking to see if I could get one earlier. If I couldn't attend and there's no appointments to reschedule what happens??

Lorelaithe1st · 18/05/2021 12:17

Sorry that should they say their appointments are coming up in the next couple of weeks!

Bluesycamore · 18/05/2021 12:21

Thanks I’ve filled out the form just in case...

@emmathedilemma the rebooking is a pain. Randomly slots become available. On another thread someone suggested that Bathgate and Gorebridge often have slots but I've also seen some at the EICC. They dissaper in minutes though so if you spot one you have to go for it.

Callisto1 · 18/05/2021 13:03

If you have working or childcare commitments it's worth finding out in advance because the letters don't seem to give much notice and the rebooking is a pain.

ContadoraExplorer · 18/05/2021 13:09

37 and 38 in East Ren and not got ours yet. Neighbours are a couple of years older and got theirs today for next week so hopefully soon, although not sure if the push for vaccinations in G41 and G42 will have an impact.

ElephantOfRisk · 18/05/2021 13:12

Thanks for the reply, sounds like it's going to be a faff - it's private halls so there won't be anyone there to keep an eye on mail and open/forward.
emmathedilemma · 18/05/2021 13:18

I'm going to stick with my original appointment @Callisto1 but I checked all centres in Lothian at different times of day and haven't seen anything come up. The one I've been given is relatively convenient, I'm lucky I have a flexible job and the foresight to have rung 2 weeks ago so I can plan around it! if there isn't a slot do you have to ring? I'm wondering if this is how appointments are being missed?

dementedpixie · 18/05/2021 13:20

I'm north lanarkshire age 47 and just got my first one done on Saturday. I imagine it would be a few weeks before they get to the younger age groups

StarsOnAMat · 18/05/2021 14:29

I’m in Forth Valley and DH who is 39 got his last week along with half my street who are 39-45. I’m 38 and not had a letter yet.
