Point taken @girl re oh dear being patronising. Not helpful, so sorry. Since we're all here having this debate though, I would say it's worth reading writers who don't reflect your own views. I'd be interested in any recommendations to stretch or test my own thinking.

GirlLovesWorld · 05/03/2021 03:28

Oh I've read plenty Wings over the years but he's got worse and worse and I don't want to give him more page views.

StarryEyeSurprise · 05/03/2021 07:48

I can only find 4 twitter messages with the same wording. Of course, people can copy and paste another's tweet and there's a large enough range of tweets in support of the FM that I don't see it as a big, disingenuous exercise on the SNP's behalf but each time their own.

kurtrussellsbeard · 05/03/2021 08:19

@sessell I think most people do that already don't they?

happygolurkey · 05/03/2021 09:28

to a compliant press

I'm wondering what papers people on here read because this 'compliant press' seems to be passing me by. The SNP get slated/damned and hauled over the coals every day in the papers I see

happygolurkey · 05/03/2021 09:34

How things have changed. Andrew Neil's Alex Salmond's new bestie.
Wings is the favoured reading of unionists Grin

OldRailer · 05/03/2021 09:34

The committee not getting the documents it requested seemed to play a large part when I watched live coverage but it course doesn't make the cut as "exciting" news. It was so concerning.

I'd hate to be an ordinary person embroiled with these people and systems.

OldRailer · 05/03/2021 09:35

Taken with the Rangers prosecutions it's very worrying.

Dinnafashyersel · 05/03/2021 09:35

I agree with Connor Matchett.

Even if I fully accepted the position of NS and co in all of this I don't accept that it is correct to obstruct legitimate enquiry from the Legislature holding the Executive to Account.

The Executive's job is to demonstrate to the Legislature that they are acting in accordance with their delegated Authority not to dictate to the Legislature.

OldRailer · 05/03/2021 09:36

I do think we miss investigative journalism now.

ATieLikeRichardGere · 05/03/2021 09:51

Something has just finally clicked to me with a little help from the internet archive and now more of the redactions and obfuscations are making sense!! I feel like I’ve been so thick!! You couldn’t make this story up.

OldRailer · 05/03/2021 09:54

I had a sense that there is s story there I'm the fog but I can't quite grasp it!

OldRailer · 05/03/2021 09:55

A story there in the fog.

ATieLikeRichardGere · 05/03/2021 09:57

Some comments in the earlier incarnations of this thread now make sense to me in view of this realisation. I’m sure I’m still missing a lot, however! I’m very much an outsider to this and not previously familiar with a lot of the characters.

Dinnafashyersel · 05/03/2021 09:57

No need to make it up. Know how to make our own entertainment in Scotland. Always been the case.

I can guess what you've figured out. 😏
WaxOnFeckOff · 05/03/2021 10:18

Would someone be willing to fill me in? I think I sort of know but sure I'm missing something?

Exactly how I feel
Serg · 05/03/2021 10:25

I’m also very, very confused. If anyone would like to point me in the right direction please?

StatisticallyChallenged · 05/03/2021 10:38

Has anyone heard how Craig Murray's case is coming along? Last I heard he's been waiting a month for a verdict which seems insane.

Nothing on his own website Stats and not seen anything anywhere else either.
happygolurkey · 05/03/2021 10:46

I'd hazard a guess at 'what's clicked'. Unfortunately though I'm being 'grey rocked'.

I'm not sure I 'know' at all, but I'd love to be filled in on this!
squarespecs · 05/03/2021 10:58

Only recently. They've had an easy ride on education and Covid for example.

StatisticallyChallenged · 05/03/2021 11:05

@WaxOnFeckOff waiting that long for a verdict seems nuts. Regardless of what he's done or not done that kind of wait is not right IMO

He's also got a damn good point about selective prosecutions.
