"I know lots of you hate her with a passion"

@Selkiesarereal

stary well that’s just great then, no harm done then. Just the small issue of a criminal act committed and not even calling the police in. All fine and dandy.
Why are the police not investigating it then? They don't need to be asked! Everyone and their granny knows.
WouldBeGood · 04/03/2021 20:05

@WouldBeGood

Just as a matter of fact, the police need a crime to be reported to them before they can act as they are not omniscient
As I said
StatisticallyChallenged · 04/03/2021 20:08

I don't hate her, I reserve hatred for a very select group of people. It's possible to criticise politicians without hate - must be one of the most overused words at the moment.

Selkiesarereal · 04/03/2021 20:10

If everyone and their granny knows then why as head of government NS not insist in getting the police involved as that is certainly what would have happened in my office. She should have been shouting from the rooftops about this yet she she did nothing.

StarryEyeSurprise · 04/03/2021 20:10

Why not do it yourself @WouldBeGood? They've obviously been waiting for that call in order to act (!)

happygolurkey · 04/03/2021 20:11

I knew the investigation had been leaked to daily record but didn't realise that included the names of claimants

Nothing to do with the rumoured source who she seems keen to protect...
TheShadowyFeminist · 04/03/2021 20:20

I thought it was interesting the exchange that Andy Wightman had with NS on the decision report recipients - she said her office didn't receive it, Wightman referred to (I think) the ICO report which confirmed who had been given a copy, and that included her office.

What was also picked up elsewhere was that the copy report the crown officer Harvie had & tried to give to the police was a paper copy. So there was no electronic trail of who was sent the report.

Selkiesarereal · 04/03/2021 20:24

happy this had all passed me by and I’m shocked.

statistical now I’m intrigued as I am none the wiser!

I'd need to try to track down where I saw it, but I believe that additionally despite the report being reduced by the Judicial Review there were attempts to give it to the committee.

Same person as is alleged to have leaked to Aberdein, I believe.

"I'd need to try to track down where I saw it, but I believe that additionally despite the report being reduced by the Judicial Review there were attempts to give it to the committee."

Not surprised if true.

I think Salmond also referred to evidence of her permanent private Secretary giving evidence to say he received a copy & then later writing to correct that. I'll need to check the written report on his evidence but I'm sure that was covered.

WouldBeGood · 04/03/2021 21:45

I see a statement from Salmond on Twitter but doesn’t seem to add much I don’t think

WouldBeGood · 04/03/2021 21:50

And this is interesting: drawing attention to the question of why the SG failed to produce documents and why that’s being ignored

@GirlLovesWorld

I love that 5000 people joined a political party in one day and the consensus here is that, probably:

They're not of voting age
They don't live in Scotland
More people might have left than joined
They were gonna join anyway

Grin

I know lots of you hate her with a passion but she clearly engages a lot of people a lot of them time.

It's really not long ago since I envied Scotland for having NS as leader. But once you see it you can't unsee it. It just becomes more glaring. The rush of new members is a classic example. With so many sock accounts on twitter saying the EXACT same message it's so obviously a cheap pre-planned PR stunt. And it just kicks home the no facts, no evidence, spin and grin day. I hope you're being ironic @girl I don't hate NS at all. I'm just genuinely disappointed.
WaxOnFeckOff · 04/03/2021 22:13

@sessell - reminds me of the "leaving a light on" stunt.

TheShadowyFeminist · 04/03/2021 22:23

Salmond's statement just confirms what been highlighted already which is that sisting was considered.

It's glaringly obvious the missing documents from November will tell us if the knowledge of the defence disintegrating kicked in a strong belief that sisting would get them 'off the hook' as the criminal case overtook the JR.

Their wilful obstruction on this is reaching embarrassing levels. And it was pretty bad already.

GirlLovesWorld · 04/03/2021 22:29

Ironic? No I wasn't being ironic at all. You may not hate her but the previous 'tiers' thread on here was boiling with hatred for her. Someone literally posted 'I literally fucking hate her'.

So no I wasn't being ironic. And I posted that as someone who isn't an SNP member so I'm without agenda. I identify as Sturgeon-ambivalent I think. Grin

WaxOnFeckOff · 04/03/2021 22:34

"Jackie Baillie said Nicola Sturgeon put in a “very good performance” at the Holyrood committee but suggested detail was lacking."

Never have the words "put in a very good performance" been so misinterpreted.

kurtrussellsbeard · 04/03/2021 22:34

How could you pre plan that? Are they all fake then?

sessell · 04/03/2021 23:14

Oh dear @kurt and @girl have a read of the latest Wings blog, where he lists some of the AstroTurf tweets with exactly the same text. I don't blame the SNP for having a spin strategy, every party does, but theirs is very cheap and obvious. I think they've become so inured to a compliant press that their tactics are sloppy. I'd find it insulting if I was a supporter.
I'm sure there may be some new members, but there's no evidence and much coordinated spin. Anyway here's the wings blog: wingsoverscotland.com/the-state-of-scotland/

GirlLovesWorld · 04/03/2021 23:20

What are you 'oh dearing' for? Did I say anything at all about the astroturfing going on? No I didn't.

I really wish people wouldn't patronise with 'oh dear' as if we can't just disagree, and it must be that I'm missing something that you've astutely cottoned on to.

And I wouldn't click a Wings link if you paid me, so no thanks.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 04/03/2021 23:27

The people you have to convince are the ones who aren't keen enough on a party to join.

Like me. I've voted for three different parties (well, one was an Independent) in the last three elections. I can't say any of them are really attracting me at the moment!

(The Independent was because he seemed really impressive when he doorstepped, very clear, and he e-mailed me later to answer a question he hadn't known the answer to when I'd asked. I wanted to help him get his deposit back.)
