"Lex which suggests that the original complaints were not characterised as reaching criminal standard at that time?"

This was a significant part of Salmond's defence.

WouldBeGood · 04/03/2021 12:30

That’s what’s all making me a bit uneasy about the involvement of the Lord Advocate and Crown Office.

It looks dodgy, to an impartial observer, even if it’s not.

GirlLovesWorld · 04/03/2021 12:31

FMQs is probably about to get very interesting!

StatisticallyChallenged · 04/03/2021 12:34

I think the issue with mediation and arbitration is that it's in the policy for current ministers.

PP made a point about negligence and I think this is the reason why it could be valis to investigate a complaint about ex staff, but only in a stricyky confidential internal way. If several people say they were sexually harrassed by someone who has left then the employers should probably investigate with a view to determining whether they have any failings in their policies or procedures that meant they didn't protect their staff adequately.

This isn't what they did

WaxOnFeckOff · 04/03/2021 12:34

Don't want to derail with Andrew Neil again but he did try and slip it in on this morning today.

Ooh err missus!

StatisticallyChallenged · 04/03/2021 12:36

Valid, strictly. Bloody phone

GirlLovesWorld · 04/03/2021 12:36

That's not a mental image anybody needs!!

WaxOnFeckOff · 04/03/2021 12:36

Latest on Wings (once again I'm still astonished that I'm reading and agreeing).

There is a bit of a diversion about the fictional 7000. but gives a wee sum up at the end about what should happen next.

Hahahahhahaha I did not even notice that. Oooo I liked that question from Ruth

TheShadowyFeminist · 04/03/2021 12:38

Quality is v poor - what are the 4 questions?

StatisticallyChallenged · 04/03/2021 12:40

Ruth going straight for the jugular. NS going straight for a smart arsed (gender neutral) response

IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 · 04/03/2021 12:41

Does anyone else find it really uncomfortable with the way they are using potential sexual assault victims to play dirty politics. Both of them tbh.

StatisticallyChallenged · 04/03/2021 12:44

RD going for the "why did you withhold docs" line. And Sturgeon saying Ruth has never remembered about the women. Her response is very political, but not answering the question

Dinnafashyersel · 04/03/2021 12:47

After yesterday's pantomime I'm almost at the stage where I suspect all sides are well aware who all the complainants are and what their political motivations are. AFAIK they were all intrinsically connected to the workings of Holyrood and the Prime Movers. We're not talking about the anonymous wee girl who does the cleaning in the loos.

IF my supposition is well founded then they actually put themselves forward to be weaponised.

IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 · 04/03/2021 12:49

I do agree with you @Dinnafashyersel we know it stinks etc. There are young people watching that though that maybe do not know and they 2 are using it as a game of one up man ship. That's made me really angry. Anas seems to be doing ok right enough

kurtrussellsbeard · 04/03/2021 12:50

They put themselves forward to be weaponised... Hmm
StatisticallyChallenged · 04/03/2021 12:57

From my understanding Scottish politics is a small world, and I have read numerous reports suggesting they are very widely known there.

That was a fairly bad tempered exchange between RD and NS, but I think NS mostly ranted at RD and avoided answering. I know that's commonly done at PMQ/FMQ but it's so hideously off-putting

Dinnafashyersel · 04/03/2021 12:57

I see your point Isurvive. However I have 2 DDs (19 and 20) both heartily sick of their supposed innate victimhood being used by #metoo and the wider political class. Cynicism doesn't even start to describe the eye rolls. Mind the stories they tell about how boys behave in their local comp and how the girls deal with it would make even Sturgeon and Salmond blush.

WaxOnFeckOff · 04/03/2021 12:58

I thought Anas did well also. He gained a public commitment to the results being published and I liked his question about the theoretical resignation which she then fudged.

So we know the position will be to not resign regardless. I missed the end bit as DH started asking what they were saying while they were still saying it.

IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 · 04/03/2021 12:59

@Dinnafashyersel that's good to know because I hate the victim shit. My kids are 7 and 2 and I want them to be confident in their ability rather than body parts but I just think stuff like this can set that stuff back.

She's basically saying can you all shut up till the vote please 🤷‍♀️

WaxOnFeckOff · 04/03/2021 13:00

Lets not forget also that "she needs to be doing her job which is handling the pandemic" - i thought her job description was a bit wider than that but I guess it explains a lot.

IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 · 04/03/2021 13:01

I mean we are locked up until the 26th of April so she has a bit of time to deal with the other stuff. Murdo Fraser calling her a liar on Twitter

WouldBeGood · 04/03/2021 13:02

That’s just outrageous about handling the pandemic.

She’s the one who took that on whilst knowing this had the potential to blow up any minute. It’s she who is irresponsible.

LexMitior · 04/03/2021 13:07

Well it’s already damaged her and I think that is going to carry on, supported by drips of information.
