As the conversation is interesting and the thread is nearly full. Does it matter if Sturgeon is guilty - do you know or care? www.mumsnet.com/Talk/scotsnet/4153007-Does-it-matter-if-Sturgeon-is-guilty-do-you-know-or-care

OK right, it's Margaret Mitchell, I have informed myself!

littlbrowndog · 03/03/2021 09:47

The questions are about her. Why does she keep talking about salmond

WaxOnFeckOff · 03/03/2021 09:47

@TokyoSushi

Right, I'm here, and have been listening/watching since 9!

Interesting that the committee are giving her a much rougher time than they did with Salmond (I need to have a look who Miss Mitchell is as she's clearly livid with her)

Absolutely fascinating.

As just pointed out, Alec was a witness, she is the one being investigated.
StatisticallyChallenged · 03/03/2021 09:50

I'm about 15 minutes behind...

WaxOnFeckOff · 03/03/2021 09:51

There was a point when their bluff was called and Westminster made signs that they were prepared to offer full fiscal responsibility. Swinney was on a plane to London like his arse was on fire to beg that the Barnet should remain. Not widely covered at the time.

WaxOnFeckOff · 03/03/2021 09:52

Deflect, deflect, deflect.

The bit about feeling sorry for the two women who didn't get their complaints handled properly. These women had their day in court did they not?

ATieLikeRichardGere · 03/03/2021 09:53

I would say she is waffling. Speaking in generalities, speculations and opinions rather than the specifics offered by other witnesses.

daisyfraser · 03/03/2021 09:53

Lost connection - Has anyone else?

OldRailer · 03/03/2021 09:53

Ah, Is this where the accusations on Twitter from some SNP supporters that the current leadership are closet unionists fit in?

ATieLikeRichardGere · 03/03/2021 09:54

Can’t really explain the difference in policy for current and previous ministers. You’d think she would have rehearsed this one better.

littlbrowndog · 03/03/2021 09:55

So in 2010 she paid no attention to how sexual harassment complaints were handled As deputy first minister.

But in 2017 pays attention

StatisticallyChallenged · 03/03/2021 09:56

Oh here comes low-Watt to throw some pre-agreed soft balls

IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 · 03/03/2021 09:57

Watt is terrible.

littlbrowndog · 03/03/2021 09:57

Watt doesn’t even question her relplies

TheShadowyFeminist · 03/03/2021 09:57

I'm getting the same sense as others that there's plenty of deflection & not a lot of acknowledgment of failings.

The argument that they had a strong case to defend based on legal opinion given when they weren't appraised of all the facts or information when making that assessment is such a significant indication of disingenuousness on NS part, I'm not sure she's even capable of admitting how badly the government handled this.

littlbrowndog · 03/03/2021 09:58

Besties🤦‍♀️

Ah ha! You know your stuff Wax. Yes many Westminster or is it Westmonster think that also.
StatisticallyChallenged · 03/03/2021 09:59

Yes, that your legal advisers said you had a strong case while you were withholding evidence from them isn't really much of an endorsement

hilbil21 · 03/03/2021 09:59

She's actually making me cringe.

OldRailer · 03/03/2021 10:00

She's into her set pieces with the help of Watts.

daisyfraser · 03/03/2021 10:00

'Besties' then slags him again. She seems to have a highly distorted view of what is funny.

Graffitiqueen · 03/03/2021 10:00

This alleged fabricated rape if true is absolutely despicable. What I don't understand about it is why they picked a time and location that she wasn't at and there were independent witnesses to say she wasn't there?

Surely you would pick a time and location that she had been alone with Salmond and there would have been opportunity?

It just doesn't add up.

WaxOnFeckOff · 03/03/2021 10:00

I can't take credit, DH told me that one.

littlbrowndog · 03/03/2021 10:01

Well done ms watt

Cripes

daisyfraser · 03/03/2021 10:02
