So following from another thread, this is to talk about our aspirational holiday plans and trips for the coming months.

We have a few things planned, but all cancellable mostly with Scottish back ups. So keen to get away somewhere.

@anon444877 haven't booked anything in Scotland, my dm has a holiday home so we'll just go there if we can't go anywhere else.

shouldistop · 28/02/2021 19:01

It's in Millport

anon444877 · 28/02/2021 19:10

should reminded me I have an old friend whose parents have a holiday home - remembered too late though, next available Oct 30!

Lockdownbear · 28/02/2021 19:14

I've spent the afternoon looking at holidays. Definitely UK, probably England or north Wales limiting the distances. Last summer we were in Cumbria, as lovely as it is I want to explore elsewhere.

DH is keen to have 2 weeks, so trying to find somewhere to keep us amused for 2 weeks.

shouldistop · 28/02/2021 19:18

I can recommend north Norfolk for anyone looking. It's lovely.

Getting on a boat just feels so much more like going on holiday 😎
Lockdownbear · 28/02/2021 19:27

Norfolk looks lovely but its a long drive is it not?

WouldBeGood · 28/02/2021 19:35

Nearer than Cornwall 😂

shouldistop · 28/02/2021 19:36

It's not too bad, we did it with ds when he was just turned 2.

WaxOnFeckOff · 28/02/2021 19:37

Lots of lodges via Hoseasons that take dogs . After last years debacle Hoseasons have changed their cancellation policy. You can also get a couple of quid off via NHS discount site, it's not a huge discount but buys a crate of beer. One place we go to has a dog shower.

hilbil21 · 28/02/2021 19:39

@WouldBeGood I live in Helensburgh. What an ambition it is haha.

WaxOnFeckOff · 28/02/2021 19:40

We drove to Sherwood forest and it took about 4 and half hours from Stirling and Norfolk would be another couple I think. So I guess it depends on your starting point - Ullapool might be a stretch but from central belt it'd be about 6 ish?

WouldBeGood · 28/02/2021 19:40

@hilbil21 😂

I’ve never been- if I’m permitted to go you could advise on the sights?

hilbil21 · 28/02/2021 19:42

To be fair it is a nice place to visit. I'm just sick of the sight of it right now lol. Happy to recommend nice places to eat etc if you make it Smile

WouldBeGood · 28/02/2021 19:45

Thank you 😊

Nice places to eat. At this point that is anywhere other than your house or car! :o

hilbil21 · 28/02/2021 19:55

@WaxOnFeckOff Our stats are level 1 realms just now. Who knows what could happen lol.

I'm not nice or smart enough to work for the nhs! But I do like Sherwood.
rookiemere · 28/02/2021 20:53

Oh also you can use Tesco vouchers for Hoseasons or cottages.com.

I've actually found cottages.com quite helpful for rescheduling our holiday - third attempt is 26th June, 3 households in the Lake District, think it's about 50/50 if it will happen this time. They're sold out for Easter 2022, don't think I can face Easter 2020s holiday for Summer 2022.

Anyone find that their holiday has been rescheduled so many times, that they're already bored with the prospect of it, even though they've not actually been on them yet.

I just want to go to the brilliant Turkish restaurant in Cockermouth.

Unlikely sentence of the day 😂
rookiemere · 28/02/2021 21:01

Ooh our unlikely to happen large family holiday is just outside Cockermouth. What's the name of the restaurant?

OP posts:
rookiemere · 28/02/2021 21:10

Do you think it would be a bit over optimistic to book a Jet2 package deal to Tenerife for October?
Having a look and the prices are pretty good at the minute, it would be so nice to have a foreign trip to look forward t.

WouldBeGood · 28/02/2021 21:10

Oooh... are they @rookiemere? That’s tempting me too

WaxOnFeckOff · 28/02/2021 21:10

it's called Aspava.
