Hope MrG is feeling better. Nightmare!

it stands to reason really that if adult bad habits are on the increase, you'd see a similar pattern with teens, that's awful.

Not allowed to sing to babies - so miserable.

More Top Drawer Railing. If he is indeed reflecting wider sentiment in the Scottish Arts and Entertainment and wider Business Community then I can only assume the SNP are on a kamikaze strategy.

@WaxOnFeckOff

honestly there is a very small margin in the middle that could be persuaded. For me it's about making sure that that group get the info they need in order to vote for anyone else except the SNP. Most of the voters are entrenched and don't care if it's the right the right thing to do for the country.
Remind me of the benefits of voting Labour or ToryHmm Not such an easy decision
shouldistop · 26/02/2021 12:54

I think I'd find it almost impossible not to sing to a baby or wee person in my care.

icanboogieboogiewoogie · 26/02/2021 13:03

NS hasn't done the Friday briefing for quite some time so I wouldn't read too much into that.

It's an easy decision for me. Why would I want to allow a corrupt, inept, failure of a government to continue? I'd rather folk voted more widely to allow Holyrood to function as intended and maybe let someone else/anyone else prove whether they can do better,

I've been a lifelong labour supporter but I'm not convinced they really represent me either. I'm going to do what I don't like doing which is to vote against a party rather than for a party. I don't care who it is I vote for in order to do that.

anon444877 · 26/02/2021 13:06

voting for a party that doesn't think scrutiny of their actions makes you a conspiracy theorist here.

wax thanks for the poached egg reassurance - they were nice and would've been nicer if I'd had them with the smoked salmon still in the freezer, instead of quickly eaten between calls!

Apparently now she is calling doubt on the result of the trial.

A UK Conservative Government would find it hard to resist throwing lots of investment money at a Scottish Parliament not controlled by the SNP. Also they are the only ones strongly saying no to IndyRef2, the threat of which starves Scotland of inward investment of people and capital, because of the ongoing uncertainty of not respecting the 2014 'once in a lifetime' result.
anon444877 · 26/02/2021 13:21

there's a case for allowing Scotland to vary corporation tax now (I assume this is one of the 'levers' they don't have) - the argument we always hear is that this lever would assure foreign direct investment, retain private sector jobs and reduce dependence on UK trade.

Let's run this experiment, and see how collecting less corporation tax plays out and how much jobs are boosted by.

I do agree with Starmer - he's getting a hammering for not coming out against corporation tax cuts but he's right, there's some evidence that you will raise more tax through cuts and this is one of the reasons it's been the direction of travel on corporation tax.

The English stamp duty holiday has been extended because it was found it raised more tax and stimulated the market.

What's the point in voting for more of the same.
What part of Scotland has benefited from 14 years of SNP.
Education certainly hasn't.

Scotland needs stability to rebuild. Not more division and hate.

Lockdownbear · 26/02/2021 13:56

Jim Sillars, coming out and telling people not to vote SNP because of how corrupt it is, is absolutely mental.

OldRailer · 26/02/2021 14:00

I can't imagine not singing either.

In other matters I've just eaten poached egg on toast, plate on my knee, watching Alec Salmond's testimony. How Scotsnet is that.

Depends on the type of bread used for the toast... :o

Anything of interest said?

OldRailer · 26/02/2021 14:08

I'm not the best interpreter!

OldRailer · 26/02/2021 14:14

All I can say is Salmond is as good a talker as ever.

anon444877 · 26/02/2021 14:16

the rush to create completely new policies, completely new legislation, that 100 % on target from Salmond.

'Rush them through in a spatchcock manner in a matter of days'.

I'm going to have to eat poached eggs tomorrow to see if I can refine my technique any.

OldRailer · 26/02/2021 14:21

WaxOn it was a slice of white and a hunk of lockdown homemade bread!

Had some strong flour in the cupboard to use. So far from a proper lockdown sourdough and a bit of a disaster really but I was proud of my wee brick.Blush

anon444877 · 26/02/2021 14:23

I've had a few forays into bread making the last year - mostly with brick like results. The beer bread was the one that turned out best, oddly.

WaxOnFeckOff · 26/02/2021 14:24

Oh my, homemade bread (of any description) is very MN, even if it is white... :o

I have better results with rolls than loaves and you can also use the strong flour to make pizza bases if that helps use it up.

WaxOnFeckOff · 26/02/2021 14:25

I use a recipe from a kids cookbook!

OldRailer · 26/02/2021 14:25

It's super dense and could be useful if you had a very small lunchbox but an active lifestyle to fuel. Hmm
