The point I was making was when a poster mentions something positive about the government it gets poo pooed. The vaccine rates are good just now in Scotland, it's something really positive👌

kurtrussellsbeard · 17/02/2021 19:07

Basically, a social media troll is someone who purposely says something controversial in order to get a rise out of other users.

Okay so that's pretty much all posts on scotsnet then? Grin

Re: hospital transmission it does feel like that’s what she’s purposely not talking about. My FIL got it from carers coming in as he was housebound. When he got to hospital he tested positive and by then it was too late - MIL had it, DH had it and gave it to me and DS, DS gave it to my parents who were providing my childcare. FIL passed away in hospital (not of Covid, he was asymptomatic, bizarrely for an 86 year old), but the rest of us are fine now. We were all being and had all been so, so bloody careful.

WouldBeGood · 17/02/2021 19:15

@AgentCooper I’m pretty sure that’s the big area of transmission now.

WaxOnFeckOff · 17/02/2021 19:29

It just frustrates me that these questions don't get asked (or don't get answered?)

It's all, "thanks for the question, here is some completely irrelevant information and now we'll talk about what I want to say until the time runs out" The opposition let them away with it and so do journalists.

It's not poo pooing for the hell of it its based on figures though just the cold hard facts of figures.

It's fantastic that we are now over a million first doses but we are on 20,000 second doses sorry but this is still lagging behind even when you take into account the spacing out.

My LA is still way down in vaccinations given as well.
So I'm still not going to roll out the party poppers and balloons for the Scottish govt vaccination set up who only ramped up after a week of pressure, applied a 6 week training programme to existing Dr's and nurses in order for them to give a jab and initially didn't accept army medics in vaccinating!
That's the cold hard facts of the programme so far!

icanboogieboogiewoogie · 17/02/2021 19:32

No, they don't get asked. I can never believe how shit the questions are. Why are the numbers still relatively high and why have they plateaued? Why are the numbers consistently high in Glasgow? That's what most of us want to know. Instead every day it's the same old crap.

WouldBeGood · 17/02/2021 19:33

It’s weird. I hear she got a bit of a grilling from Jackie Baillie today about the Audit Scotland report on not following the pandemic planning protocols

WaxOnFeckOff · 17/02/2021 19:36

Yes, it's not like every woman, man and child don't have a vested interest in this now. I think it's gobshite that they are using these figures in the first place but asides from that, if they have chosen to use those figures in order to justify continued lock down, then we need to know what the plan is to get them lower.

NotAnActualSheep · 17/02/2021 19:40

I'm liking JB more the more I see her! I think she has been at least trying to probe NS a bit and she is looking at least a little shamefaced as much as NS ever does. Shame she's not standing as leader. Don't know that much about the other two.

Scottishskifun · 17/02/2021 19:41

I think Glasgow is starting to come down in the last few day although very slowly no idea what's going on in East Ayrshire, Clackmannanshire and West Dumbartonshire though they seem to be going up!

GoldenOmber · 17/02/2021 19:42

Is East Ayrshire one of the prisons that's had an outbreak?

WaxOnFeckOff · 17/02/2021 19:42

I think Glasgow folk have moved house.....:o

AgentCooper · 17/02/2021 19:44

Oh this with fucking massive bells on.
icanboogieboogiewoogie · 17/02/2021 19:48

Aye, a huge outbreak in a prison in Kilmarnock. 270 positive cases. Many asymptomatic.

AgentCooper · 17/02/2021 19:48

On the subject of Ayrshire, obviously it’s terrible that things aren’t looking better and it’s frightening. But take a look at this picture created by the Irvine Times to illustrate the story. A big Covid particle literally rolling up the road into Ayrshire. It’s awful and I can’t stop looking at it 😂

Here come those tiers again.
WaxOnFeckOff · 17/02/2021 19:49

Have they said why track and trace numbers are so low? I guess because you don't need that when you already know where people caught it and which ward they were in at the time

IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 · 17/02/2021 19:51

@AgentCooper fuck me 🙈 that's extreme! Excuse the language but apart from the fact it is impossible what do they hope to gain with pictures like that.

blowinahoolie · 17/02/2021 19:54

"Okay so that's pretty much all posts on scotsnet then? grin"

😂

OldRailer · 17/02/2021 19:55

Oh Agent Cooper that particle.

I hate the big particle that is used with all its flipping spike proteins (a phrase I wish I'd never heard) AND possibly even worse are those animations of folk talking with the little blue particles exiting their nose and mouth to drop on us all. Ugh.

NotAnActualSheep · 17/02/2021 20:00

Fuck - I think the scientists have been getting it wrong all along then. It's nothing to do with droplets and all that. The fuckers are just rolling between us like tumbleweed. Well - that's how we stop it, then. Get the border patrols out to batter those big spikey bits.

AgentCooper · 17/02/2021 20:10

@NotAnActualSheep my thoughts exactly, WHERE ARE THE POLICE?? Shouldn’t they be manning the borders and subjecting that big particle to the same sanctions as the rest of us?

StarryEyeSurprise · 17/02/2021 20:15

Lol!

Re Glasgow, I must be reading it wrong but I think today's new cases are lower than Highland.

MaxNormal · 17/02/2021 20:16

AgentCooper just pissed myself at that picture, thank you Grin

seeingdots · 17/02/2021 20:27

On hospital transmission - the latest figures published (for the week ending 17th January) are showing less than 4% of positive cases may have been acquired in hospital. I've no idea how robust the stats are but it doesn't sound like a large proportion of transmission is happening in hospitals, unless a lot has changed in the past month.
