Yes there is. It's in place to the beginning of March with a likely extension at that time. I watched the announcement and if you look at glasgow live summary it is on there too.

I don't know how to like on the app but the next 2 week review will be the 2nd of March so add the extension of 2 weeks on its mid March at the earliest. Given the other children will be going back to school then I would expect it extended to the end. That last sentence is speculation but the the stuff above is from today

IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 · 16/02/2021 21:17

Thanks @WouldBeGood I felt like I was banging my head of a wall

ICouldHaveCheckedFirst · 16/02/2021 21:31

After posting, I did see a screenshot on another thread showing lockdown until mid March.
Aaaaarggh. Angry

IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 · 16/02/2021 21:33

@ICouldHaveCheckedFirst sorry I did sound pissy there it wasn't intended that way I'm just incredibly fucked off with today. I'm central belt so this has been going on I feel anyway for most of the last year. Even when stuff was eased it was all guilt trips and even though you can do it doesn't mean you should.

ICouldHaveCheckedFirst · 16/02/2021 21:38

I'm not getting at anybody! Well, nobody on this thread Wink
Scot gov official site says lockdown until"at least the beginning of March" (and possibly longer!!) whereas BBC says until "at least the end of this month".

So which is it? 28 Feb? 1 March? 7 March? 12th of Never?

jabbathebutt · 16/02/2021 21:40

its parents who have all their kids in or under p3 who think lockdown has ended.

For the rest of us, it continues.

Scottishskifun · 16/02/2021 21:44

I don't know of any parent who thinks like lock down isn't just effecting the schools it's shops, family and friends.

My DS has attended nursery throughout as key workers I'm still accutely aware of being in a lock down with no end in sight of seeing my family 400 miles away.

IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 · 16/02/2021 21:45

@jabbathebutt mine will be back but it's still lockdown 100% for me here 🤷‍♀️

blowinahoolie · 16/02/2021 21:47

But it does feel incredibly limited on a daily basis with small DC in your home. You can't just nip out hassle free for a walk any time you feel like it. Lockdown does end in a roundabout way once nurseries return next week for many parents.

WouldBeGood · 16/02/2021 21:48

Lockdown is NOT ending. It’s got more restrictive.

MaxNormal · 16/02/2021 21:52

Are people really bothering to stick to council area?

anon444877 · 16/02/2021 21:53

under 7s being back next week (and let's not forget under 5s have never been locked out of nursery in England) is a tiny step and we've been told that's it til at least 15 March, when we'll be lucky if some more kids go back.

IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 · 16/02/2021 21:56

No @blowinahoolie it really doesn't. Legally I can still only leave my home for essential purposes or to drop my children at school/childcare. I have been told I must not socialise whilst doing this.

It may feel like it's ending for you but it really is not the case. Aw much as we are mostly from what I have read mums on this site. There is more to life than dropping our kids at school. I don't agree with a society in the western world that has to beg for their children to have an education. Also only some of them can go. It's incredibly sad for the kids who cannot go back

blowinahoolie · 16/02/2021 21:58

Today's announcement is a massive milestone IMO. It's been incredibly challenging keeping two preschoolers entertained during all of this. My own personal lockdown (perhaps is a better way of wording it) is ending from next Monday.

WouldBeGood · 16/02/2021 21:59

@blowinahoolie are you Nicola?

Scottishskifun · 16/02/2021 22:00

@MaxNormal

We do yes unless under an exemption so we meet a friend for a walk on the boundary which is allowed and if we have a medical appointment as the hospital is in the next council area.
blowinahoolie · 16/02/2021 22:02

Would it make you happy if I said yes, WouldBeGood🤪

WouldBeGood · 16/02/2021 22:03

I mean, I’m glad @blowinahoolie that you’re so delighted with your lot, but it seems very clear that few people are happy with the ongoing lack of schooling, freedom, or hope.

IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 · 16/02/2021 22:04

@blowinahoolie I have a toddler it is nothing short of brutal thankfully I had the sense to choose a childminder who by luck of the draw got to stay open ( sarcasm in the sense of choosing a childminder ) I was lucky.

If your personal lockdown ends on Monday then you are in for a shock. There is hee haw open. Nicola has worked no magic she's done politically what she thinks will cause the least drama for maximum impact. Yes it's hard to get out with a toddler as I'm sure the Aldi checkout operator would tell you when I had mine with me today but a mum with a P4 is probably struggling just the same.

MaxNormal · 16/02/2021 22:06

Just me then Grin what can I say, no Waitose in my council area.

WaxOnFeckOff · 16/02/2021 22:07

Really? So that would be all the stay at home parents of children aged 3-7ish who can just resume their normal life? So, the rest of everyone including those parents of those age children who also work can just pretend it's all fine as some mummies can now go for a stroll in the park by themselves...the same park they've probably been trudging through for months with their DC - maybe open your eyes?

You certainly seem to have the same amount of understanding and compassion as Nicola.

WouldBeGood · 16/02/2021 22:08

I go to Waitrose- they have a line called “essentials”: you can’t get clearer than that!
IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 · 16/02/2021 22:08

@MaxNormal no I go everywhere 😂 I don't even think about the council area. If you really think about it all the hospitals are greater glasgow and Clyde anyway for me.

MaxNormal · 16/02/2021 22:11

That's an extremely good point. Surely the most lockdown-compliant of all the supermarkets!

Pootle40 · 16/02/2021 22:12

@Bytheloch

No intention of letting the FM decide if I’m allowed to stay in self catering near my family in England who I haven’t seen in 18months and who’ve all had the vaccine. Easter school holidays I’ll be putting foot on the gas and crossing the unicorn border. Police Scotland will not stop and fine/impose quarantine conditions on those of us returning to vote to cross the land boundary, it just won’t happen.
