Does it matter if Sturgeon is guilty - do you know or care?

Evidence of a conspiracy to frame Alex Salmond has been building. There are compelling reports in the Times, Herald , Sky News and across the internet. But there is less reporting in Scotland and a lot of people seem to not know or care. I'm Scottish but I don't live there. I've been hooked by this as a story of power and corruption. I'm on the fence re independence, just don't know enough so don't have an axe in that debate. I've never been an SNP member. But I do care about justice and that no-one should be above the law, especially politicians when they are seeking to imprison their potential rivals.

After reading this affadavit from Craig Murray which brings it all together and is incendiary I'm pretty convinced there has been a conspiracy and that Sturgeon and her collaborators should face justice. Although the justice department (Crown office) also seem to be mired in this. Here is the affadavit www.craigmurray.org.uk/archives/2021/01/my-sworn-evidence-on-the-sturgeon-affair/

I've shown this to a few people and have been shocked that a couple have said, yes it stinks but I like Sturgeon. I'd be interested in the views of Scotsnet. How much do you know about this? Do you care? Is it OK for our politicians to imprison their rivals, like Putin and co do, if you like their other objectives. Has Scotland become a corrupt nation? Is that OK?

Thanks for those links
Yes Adam Tomkins vg. Sadly he's decided to return to academia, sick of Holyrood mediocrity sans doute.

Graffitiqueen · 28/02/2021 10:59

I've been dying for an SNP representative to turn up at my door since indyref. They never do though. I'm sure I must be on some list.

WouldBeGood · 28/02/2021 11:02

I got one who came round mob handed and proudly said they’d increase public sector pay across the board - I said I didn’t agree, astounded them by saying I worked for the public sector and didn’t think I or other like me needed a pay rise and they left.

I have a whole pile of questions for them now and am quite sad they won’t be coming round this year.

Graffitiqueen · 28/02/2021 11:03

I'm still gobsmacked at a poster on one of the other threads who campaigned for Indy, but was horrified that England where her family live was considered international in terms of covid. 🤦‍♀️

It had obviously never occurred that at some point there might be restrictions/barriers to travel to England post Indy.

WouldBeGood · 28/02/2021 11:10

@Graffitiqueen it beggars belief. I was told there wouldn’t be a border as Scotland wouldn’t need one 🤷🏻‍♀️

OldRailer · 28/02/2021 11:10

SNP have done well over the years to appeal on a lot of different levels.

I don't blame people who get sucked in.

HappydaysArehere · 28/02/2021 11:14

She comes across as an aggressive, prickly sort of person. He has a more measured persona but as their names indicate - well fishy.
My only claim to the right to put a post on here is that my mother’s maiden name was Fraser! So sorry if you want me to butt out. I am amazed that two people so close to each other for so long with Sturgeon owing her leadership to her mentor and supporter are in this unbelievable position now. It looks like dog eats dog. Or even fish eats fish. (Sorry once again).

happygolurkey · 28/02/2021 11:20

some hilarious reading on this board - bet Salmond wishes he had this much support and devotion when he was leader! especially from rabid unionists.
wondered when youz would get on to currency lols

daisyfraser · 28/02/2021 11:35

That seems to be the default response - lols, esp if Alyn/ Allan/Alan Smith/Smyth/Smiff on Any Questions is an indication - fake guffawing in response to another panellist's comments?? What a noddy of a guy.

Amazing that this poster can see into the voting history and voting intentions of others here simply from reading their comments.
Ridicule and insult is all they nats seem to have. Astonishingn they think this can run an country.

Can't wait to hear Nippy's self-defence on Wed. Can't wait to see the size of the bags under her eyes.
Charlotte Street Partners will be coining it in over the next few days with their coaching sessions.

Graffitiqueen · 28/02/2021 11:38

@HappydaysArehere you are very welcome to post here.

OldRailer · 28/02/2021 11:40

I may even have voted SNP at times myself in local government as the candidate was miles better than the available opponent and had helped us deal with council issues!😂

Graffitiqueen · 28/02/2021 11:40

Regarding the currency question, the SNP could make that go away by answering the question. Given that they still haven't, you should really be asking why. Could it be that there is no solution to the currency question that doesn't come with significant downsides perhaps?

happygolurkey · 28/02/2021 11:55

seeing as every second post here says something along the lines of 'can't stand Salmond but hate Sturgeon more' - it's not rocket science is it?

really daisy - Ridicule and insult is all they nats seem to have. from you, then two sentences later: Can't wait to hear Nippy's self-defence on Wed. Can't wait to see the size of the bags under her eyes.

I previously asked if anyone had a link to a copy of Salmond's unredacted evidence that came out on the 22nd. A couple of you pointed me to Craig Murray's blog and I also believed I had found it archived. But now I've actually sat down to look at it I realise the one on CM's blog is also redacted, and mine is a different document. Any other sources?

Here is the link to the redacted evidence I'm referring to: www.parliament.scot/HarassmentComplaintsCommittee/General%20documents/Alex_Salmond_Final_Submission.pdf

OldRailer · 28/02/2021 12:01

Spectator?

ATieLikeRichardGere · 28/02/2021 12:04

Have also checked archive version of Murray's blog without success!

People have previously pointed to this on the Spectator but that isn't the document from Feb 22nd: www.spectator.co.uk/article/full-text-alex-salmond-s-submission-to-the-hamilton-inquiry

ATieLikeRichardGere · 28/02/2021 12:05

This version is also redacted: civillibertyscotland.com/news/alex-salmonds-written-submission

sure, fair enough direction for the discussion to go in. Seeing as Salmond himself admitted under oath he hadn't a shred of evidence to prove the assertion in OP's opening post - that Sturgeon conspired to frame and imprison him - then the discussion's got to move on to somewhere I suppose. Why not currency?

There's two lots of redactions. Even the first publication had redactions, but they then went back and made more. It was the ministerial code one which got the crucial paragraphs removed between the first and second publication.

StatisticallyChallenged · 28/02/2021 12:22

Others have accused Sturgeon, just not Salmond. And there's also the issue of the various ministerial code breaches she could be guilty of.

The conversation is far from over

ATieLikeRichardGere · 28/02/2021 12:27

@StatisticallyChallenged Thank you. So 2 redactions in the document, lots in the appendices. 2 types - some in black and some in purple. But it was always like that?

WouldBeGood · 28/02/2021 12:27

I personally think that the refusal to answer vague questions such as currency is all part of the same deception of the voters.

StatisticallyChallenged · 28/02/2021 12:30

Yes, it was I think. Not sure why but I remember the massive black blob, and the purple. I'm guessing the black is redactions made by Salmond's solicitor's in anticipation as purple was the colour used for the later redactions too. In the earliest version itself mostly used to blank out names of what I think are more junior staff. Not sure though

ATieLikeRichardGere · 28/02/2021 12:32

@StatisticallyChallenged Ok thank you. I wish I had saved it first time round to be sure.

Agree. They expect blind faith.
