I eaa just coming on to post the zero Devi u-turn.

LetItGoGo · 30/01/2021 16:18

Thank god.

I started off feeling sorry for Spanish kids. Now it's ours.

WouldBeGood · 30/01/2021 16:21

Oh!! If Devi gets the kids back in school then I will make my own sunshine!

WouldBeGood · 30/01/2021 16:22

Thanks fir posting that btw. Really cheered me up

Dinnafashyersel · 30/01/2021 16:25

Fingers and toes crossed. Brew

RaspberryCoulis · 30/01/2021 16:31
@rasperrycoulis - the correct response would be "I'd rather be snotty and safe than dim and dead"
Sympathies tho - not a pleasant experience. Hope you complained to store management
No point though is there, Asda can't vett people coming through the door to make sure they're not arseholes.

fluffyugg · 30/01/2021 16:53

Is it too much to hope that Devi's post points towards all primary kids getting back soon?! 😬

Scottishskifun · 30/01/2021 17:00

@fluffyugg

In a word...... Yes Sad

I'm just hoping for any date as that's part of the problem I find the never ending element of it and it's not even for me it's for my friends and colleagues (my son attends his nursery on a KW slot)

Y0uCann0tBeSer10us · 30/01/2021 17:02

Really hope Primaries are back again soon! Ds is really feeling the loss of social contact and we're having a lot of emotional outbursts. If Devi is arguing for it, this really gives me hope.

iquitelikenormalityafterall · 30/01/2021 17:05

Just coming on to say it also made me feel a teeny bit of hope we might hear some news this week at least about early years. Fingers crossed!!!

titsbumfannythelot · 30/01/2021 17:25

@Dinnafashyersel

Getting in early with a new thread title suggestion in honour of J&J - "no more tiers formula".
I like this one.
Cismyfatarse · 30/01/2021 17:53

The gossip I have is that nurseries have had an official letter saying science says no transmission there. My source suggests they are softening up nursery staff for a return fairly soon.

No corresponding letter to primary yet but may come soon.

shouldistop · 30/01/2021 18:06

@Cismyfatarse that sounds hopeful, I hope it's not a rumour. I feel for any staff worried about their health too obviously. I really appreciate the ladies who look after my son and he adores them. I'm desperate for him to get back but I'm worried about staff being resentful at being in if schools are off. I hope not.
Maybe I'll send them all a wee present when they re-open to say thank you.
Or a nice card made by my son?
Any suggestions from anyone? @Groovee did you say you are a nursery teacher or am I mixed up?

IncludeWomenInTheSequel · 30/01/2021 18:18

Official letter from? And nobody has leaked that? Hmmm. Is someone exaggerating to you or something maybe?

Lockdownbear · 30/01/2021 18:29

It really would be good to get nursery kids back. My LO is being sadly neglected.

Between work and home school his needs are bottom of the priority list. He is also great at distracting big brother making HS 10x harder and longer than it should be.

shouldistop · 30/01/2021 18:35

I have absolutely no idea if this is genuine or not btw

I get locked down. Tiers go up again.
Cismyfatarse · 30/01/2021 18:37

My source works in Health and Safety and was in a nursery where he was told. They were checking things for possible reopening and showed him a letter.

OP posts:
Cismyfatarse · 30/01/2021 18:39

That looks like it.

Scottishskifun · 30/01/2021 18:44

@shouldistop makes sense that it is genuine its the same information that was given by the man himself in his twitter videos.

Lockdownbear · 30/01/2021 18:44

I wonder if we are getting primed for Tuesdays 2 week notice.

IncludeWomenInTheSequel · 30/01/2021 18:55

Oh well sounds hopeful then!

Direwolfwrangler · 30/01/2021 18:58

The letter is genuine, I’ve seen it through my work. As has been said, I hope it’s setting the groundwork for a return. My little one is bored and in need of time with other children.

RaspberryCoulis · 30/01/2021 19:09

Delighted that pre-schoolers are getting back sooner rather than later. Hopefully primary won't be much longer.

The main issue with education is that the ones who REALLY need to be back are the S4, S5, S6 who all have exams, but are the ones at most risk of spreading it.

Groovee · 30/01/2021 19:17

As nursery staff... I've heard nothing like this.
Lockdownbear · 30/01/2021 19:18

Raspberry don't underestimate the damage being done to LOs who need a parent to take them out. It's much more than education they are missing.

Truthfully my LO saw daylight today for the first time since last weekend. That's neglect.
