Is it Kaftans for winter and Muumuus for the summer months? Asking for a friend...

titsbumfannythelot · 27/01/2021 19:46

😆 had to google muumuu, every day is a school day.

It's all absolutely shite @raspberry hopefully you see your folks more this year.

WaxOnFeckOff · 27/01/2021 19:53

I remember muumuu from the Simpsons tv show when homer got really fat. We joke about it at work every Christmas when heading back to the office and when none of our clothes fit. We always said one year we should all actually do it - i shouldn't imagine that'll ever happen now with the change to working arrangements.

Lidlfix · 27/01/2021 19:59

Googled the difference between kaftans and muumuus . Linguist or fashionista? Either way as an apple before my over indulgence I can only guffaw at what I would look like- maxi dresses make me look like a ship at full sale as the flair out at my (enormous not in an attractive way) boobs and never come in again.

Wouldbe self preservation in a naive way rather than optimism. Dealing with the things I can control and trying to let go of what I can't . Otherwise I end up unable to sleep.

WouldBeGood · 27/01/2021 19:59

@RaspberryCoulis I’ve turned to drink, so fed up. First it’s save the nhs, then the vaccine is our saviour, now we’re just locked up ad Infinitum

shouldistop · 27/01/2021 20:00

God I wish I could turn to drink, scared I'll get the baby drunk ConfusedGrin

WouldBeGood · 27/01/2021 20:02

@shouldistop 😂

icanboogieboogiewoogie · 27/01/2021 20:02

Was a muumuu what Melania was wearing when she came off the plane in Florida? Wouldn't it just be great if she just thought 'fuck it' and put on 8 stone?

@Lidlfix I had been assuming that we'd be back in February too, but BJ's announcement that England will be March has made me think we'll probably be the same. Plus the SQA don't want grades till June so we're a little less pushed for time now, apparently.

WouldBeGood · 27/01/2021 20:09

Oh, I’ve hidden other threads, too nuts

WaxOnFeckOff · 27/01/2021 20:09

I think Melania will be trying to work out if she is better off divorcing or waiting until he dies.

WaxOnFeckOff · 27/01/2021 20:12

It's bizarre. Did anyone see the post last week that was just a rant about boris and trump and being racist etc? I thought it was a PBP so asked MNHQ about it, but someone has seriously lost the plot. No-one had commented on it but it was there for ages.
Coquohvan · 27/01/2021 20:19

It’s fine @WouldBeGood we’re all speculating I’d say, if only we could have a road map, if we get - deaths hospitalisation below x % off population vaccinated, cases levelling below x number. We don’t so we speculate.

A suggestion regarding fitness equipment, before you buy have a look at online fitness classes on YouTube. Some good ones and a lot free to do. Weights can be anything from bottled water tinned food etc You can get resistance bands cheap enough online.

WouldBeGood · 27/01/2021 20:22

@Coquohvan I just can’t get on with online classes. And ds won’t do them.

I just want back to the gym

WouldBeGood · 27/01/2021 20:24

@WaxOnFeckOff no, I didn’t see that one 😂

I think I’ll just stay here

Coquohvan · 27/01/2021 20:26

Agree some bizarre threads and posters about atm. @Wax ignore the squirrels they need oxygen to work. Never saw the thread about Trump, now your talking about very special loonies 😜

Coquohvan · 27/01/2021 20:28

Me too @Would you get inspired to do your best with others around, just a thought before peeps spend cash.

WouldBeGood · 27/01/2021 20:34

Yes, @Coquohvan I do much better getting my arse kicked by an instructor or in a class.

I’m feeling a bit sad about it.

WouldBeGood · 27/01/2021 20:35

I’m 51 so it’s not easy to regain lost fitness

WaxOnFeckOff · 27/01/2021 20:35

I think it was more bizarre because it was on here in scotsnet.

I'd like to take this opportunity to say that I apologise to any normal poster if I've ever made them unwelcome. I think debate can become robust at times but I've never hidden who I am and I think it's okay to disagree with people and have different views. I think there are posters here who are clearly just at it for the wind up and never post anywhere else, I've fallen into the trap more than once and I guess others might have got caught in the crossfire.

Pootle40 · 27/01/2021 20:45

@rookiemere

Sorry but I simply can't see Scottish schools opening this side of Easter. Her modus operandi has always been to be a few weeks behind England and whilst the numbers are still going down, they're still worryingly high in the Glasgow area.

Just have to keep our fingers crossed that the vaccine rollout does actually lead to reductions in hospitalisations.

But they're not really are they? We are way ahead of England in terms of reducing 'cases' and hospital numbers are not as bad.....frankly it's all a bit ridiculous now. Even Glasgow is not that bad and the overall rate for Scotland is PLUMMETING!
Pootle40 · 27/01/2021 20:48

@Sootess

Surely, with the geography of Scotland, there’s an argument for opening schools regionally? Are they going to keep schools shut in Shetland, Elgin and Inveraray until community transmission is down in the central belt Hmm
Exactly. I have queried this blanket response all along......in my district we had 3 more cases last week than we did in the weeks in November. I'm sure it would no different if they were at school now
hilbil21 · 27/01/2021 21:11

If anyone is looking for a treadmill to walk and very light jog on I got one the other day online and it's really good. Will post if anyone interested but I know most look for one you can run on. I hate running lol Smile

WaxOnFeckOff · 27/01/2021 21:14

i'd really recommend a rowing machine, works so much more of your body and core as well as cardio - I should take my own advice on this :)

IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 · 27/01/2021 21:14

Me please at @hilbil21 got a birthday coming up and will not be going anywhere so might as well do something productive. Don't have a clue where to start with buying something like that

hilbil21 · 27/01/2021 21:17

Here it is. I'm actually really impressed with it. Husband works offshore, I'm homeschooling a lazy 5 year old.... so it's the only thing getting me off my backside as it's a pain to actually leave the house.

I get locked down. Tiers go up again.
