Well, now that Eck has lit the blue touch paper, things are going to get interesting!
Who is lying?
Who is telling the truth( or as close to it as any politician gets)
And, who will be left standing?

It's worth remembering that the shenanigans of which Ms Sturgeon stands accused took place (allegedly) before Covid hit these shores.

Nichola has a very small country to look after and she doesn’t have to worry about how it’s to be paid for . Of course she knew about AS - as someone suggested perhaps she forgot the actual meeting as she was already up to speed on AS ‘s shenanigans .

Misleading/lying to parliament is never a non story especially if it is the most senior person in government.
We shouldn’t let a pandemic erode democracy which should always be protected and for people to happily turn a blind eye to this is rather worrying.

Inquiry won’t get Sturgeon key evidence - vital evidence will never be made public after it was withdrawn from the Holyrood inquiry . How can they get away with this?

Bytheloch · 21/01/2021 17:54

I’ve just caught up with today’s news. Why not? Why won’t it be made public?

It's not often I find myself on the same side as Wingsoverscotland, but he's right - this whole affair stinks of corruption.

annabelindajane · 21/01/2021 19:32

Don’t fully understand - something to do with witnesses incriminating themselves but hopefully someone who understands will pop along with an answer

Thanks @HirplesWithHaggis for link to wingsoverscotland article.
What a mess!
I’m disappointed to read that NS needs 14 spin doctors and that their yearly wage bill is over £1m and we the tax payer picks up the bill!!!

This is my personal insight and not meant to be political commentary.

I knew/know both parties - one from long ago and one more recently. Both are very committed to their cause and both are profoundly ethical. I respect both as decent human beings and accomplished politicians. I am a member of a different party to the SNP. Many of my friends are SNP members, some hold elected positions.

I find this current situation sinister. I don't see it as "yoon forces at work" or some international conspiracy. This is very much an internal SNP issue. There is something deeply rotten at the core of the party. I don't know what it is. My active SNP friends will not speak about it, but are obviously very uncomfortable when certain issues come up in conversation. "Wings" has his detractors, but it's difficult to refute what he says.

It's bad news for NS no matter what the outcome of this. Either she is behind the Machavellian machinations behind the Salmond case, or she is not and is being manipulated. Whichever, her leadership is damaged. AS is yesterday's man. He doesn't have that much to lose. I don't believe he has any driving ambition to return to the political stage (but probably still harbours ambitions to influence behind the scenes.)

She is toast.
