that is so awful. My S6 DD did not achieve her potential last year due to being a slow burner and not putting in the work for her prelims. She should be awaiting a raft of unconditionals, she's not. And now crapping herself that the rest of S6 might be online but has older Dsis's doing uni work that way so is preparing herself for it.
That, obviously, is nothing compared to your DD and her heartbreaking experience. I have no platitudes.
For me, I will hope for the best. Prepare for the worst.
I know that remote teaching or blended learning or any model that is not 100% in 100% of the time will upset, anger, frustrate, dismay, confuse ...
I know that a typical class has ECV pupils, young carers, pupils with parents or siblings with chronic conditions and these are just the ones we know about. I have no desire for anyone to be put at risk if transmission continues to rise at a rapid rate.
My school had a small number of cases which were (as far as I know) handled really well. Still upsetting for all involved. DD's school has basically had cases constantly since August and coped admirably.
I will teach the best I can with what I have and in the parameters that I should work within for whoever wants to engage.
