This is an ongoing thread for Scottish mumsnetters - or indeed non Scottish mumsnetters such as myself, to comment on ongoing covid matters pertinent to ourselves, in a hopefully not too partisan and friendly fashion.

Hang on while I knock one up on photoshop retrieve it from my records. Though eating them in a hedge I reckon qualifies as correct and safe disposal, as long as it's a hedge in England. And there isn't anyone else hiding in there having jumped away from passing joggers.

Dinnafashyersel · 27/11/2020 16:03

Angostura you say? Always handy for when you move onto the CC highballs later (still not as misspent a youth as up the park on the Merrydown or Bucky - I grew up in the days when the local hotels accepted teacher recommendations in lieu of age ID).

Gin tastes like washing up liquid to me.

StatisticallyChallenged · 27/11/2020 16:04

Are we throwing the mince pies to the oldies, or at them? One sounds sweet, t'other a tad sadistic

WouldBeGood · 27/11/2020 16:05

Please remember that any cracker purporting to be for sharing must be quarantined for 72 hours

@Tierful

In all seriousness I think it would be good for our teachers to have a longer break. They’ve had a particularly tough few months in our school for various reasons.

Though I’m sure the same applies to all front line staff and there’s no option there for a break, indeed the opposite will likely be the case.

But it wouldn't be a longer break for teachers as the people on that page would be demanding online teaching for their little darlings - remember us lazy gits of teachers sat on our bums doing nothing for 12 weeks already during lockdown Grin

I was distracted there by one of the lovely Scottish relatives ( aka potential visitor attraction) phoning to ask about Christmas presents.

They were slightly surprised when I asked for several long tins of Jaffa cakes.

In reality, we’ll all just be posting malt whisky, pyjamas and golf balls around the country.
None of these ( apart from the PJs) are all that easy to lob through an open window on a drive by.

I have very fond memories of my grandparents drinking home made Ginger Wine at Christmas.
I know you can buy it but it doesn’t taste the same.

Iwillneverbesatisfied · 27/11/2020 16:54

DH and I were talking about lockdown themed Xmas songs

"Happy Christmas lockdown is over"

"Do they know it's Christmas" (naebody knows)

"Last Christmas" ( find memories)

"Locking around the Christmas tree"

I'm sure there's more we can come up with

WouldBeGood · 27/11/2020 16:58

WaxOnFeckOff · 27/11/2020 17:11

Aww we'll all be fine, Robbie Williams knob-end has written and actual CV themed Christmas song for us all to enjoy.

Yep, that's one job done!

DH just asked me for a list of what I'd like for Christmas - I've told him to ask Nicola what I'm allowed.
