This is an ongoing thread for Scottish mumsnetters - or indeed non Scottish mumsnetters such as myself, to comment on ongoing covid matters pertinent to ourselves, in a hopefully not too partisan and friendly fashion.

Your Xmas dinners will be slid under your doors. By Jason

Jason - the anti-santa..

WouldBeGood · 25/11/2020 22:11

@littlbrowndog 😂😂

WouldBeGood · 25/11/2020 22:12

@Cismyfatarse are you a teacher? Must be hard. I’m so grateful to yiu teachers though. DS has just lit up since starting high school after lockdown

Christmasbiscuit · 25/11/2020 22:13

@littlbrowndog 😂😂😂 the sliding dinner plate will clear some of the dust!

Bytheloch · 25/11/2020 22:13

@titsbumfannythelot

Christ on a bike, next Jason Leitch will be deputising for Santa because it's just too much of a risk.

In the words of someone in four weddings and a funeral, fuckadoodledo

Now there’s an image. My eyes. My eyes.
Cismyfatarse · 25/11/2020 22:14

Yes. High School English teacher. I love my job but it is so hard to communicate through a mask.

WouldBeGood · 25/11/2020 22:15

He’ll deliver your dinner if you promise to convert to the Church of Jason

littlbrowndog · 25/11/2020 22:16

My dad used to watch was it. Rev I am jolly.

Is there a place for him on our queens infrequent telly appearances.

Was that his name. ?

He was very droll

titsbumfannythelot · 25/11/2020 22:16

Ricky Fulton

WouldBeGood · 25/11/2020 22:17

@littlbrowndog yes! We could have Nicola doing it...

WouldBeGood · 25/11/2020 22:22

titsbumfannythelot · 25/11/2020 22:24

littlbrowndog · 25/11/2020 22:28

Omg he is so funny

Imagine him on the daily briefing sitting at the back

WouldBeGood · 25/11/2020 22:48

This has made me laugh, thanks 😊

StatisticallyChallenged · 26/11/2020 08:29

The thought of Jason Leitch coming down the chimney is enough to ensure we never sleep again!

anon444877 · 26/11/2020 08:39

What would the kids get, a covid test? Shudders.

NotAnActualSheep · 26/11/2020 08:59

Jason's not coming down my chimney, I can tell you that.

WouldBeGood · 26/11/2020 09:01

The very thought! 😂😂

RaspberryCoulis · 26/11/2020 09:09

And how are shops going to shift their Christmas stock?

They're not. I volunteer in a charity shop every Thursday, obviously not today though. Last thursday we had our last delivery of Christmas stock - mainly little handmade ornaments but also cards and wrapping paper.

We are hoping to reopen on 12th December. There is NO WAY we are going to shift all those decorations in the fortnight before Christmas, or the cards. Wrap possibly.

We have taken such a hammering this year.

Bikingbear · 26/11/2020 09:25

Its absolutely rotten for the shops. But I'm I'm becoming more and more convinced that schools will go online on the 11th.

Whatever spin they put on it that's what they are gearing up to tell you.

Christmasbiscuit · 26/11/2020 09:28

I think you're right @Bikingbear but I really hope not 😦

anon444877 · 26/11/2020 09:29

Will it actually work or will people take their kids out for 'essential shopping' ?

Bikingbear · 26/11/2020 09:37

Anon, I have no idea. But given the mitigation in shops, masks, SD, sanitizer, screens, is the risk in shops that high?

It firmly believe the role of high schools in the spread is being understated. But that's not the reason they are going to give for closing schools.

Bikingbear · 26/11/2020 09:39

Look what happened when they did mass testing of students, 1000s of them the asymptomatic. How are school pupils not much younger any different?
