Scottish Exam Results 2020

After hearing DD3's deep sigh and worried voice observe "this time in four weeks..." I feel it's acceptable to begin the 2020 thread.

Over the years Scotsnet regulars and visitors have given great support, advice and even (tales of blissfully unaware snoring DC) light hearted relief to each other over the years.

This year has been particularly fearful for us and our DC and I know how much I have appreciated results threads in previous years. As there are plenty of threads with political discussions and chances for posters to express concerns about what politicians/councils/ schools/ teachers are or aren't doing, can I gently ask that we keep this to topic?

I have DD3 waiting on 1 AH and 2 Highers for a conditional offer and DD4 waiting on 5 Highers - results depending she'd like to apply for Law for the end of S6.

Sorry meant find out the teacher estimate from the school. What I typed was so unclear.Hmm

SockYarn · 04/08/2020 07:53

You are lucky you know what grades were put forward. We were not told that, which means if DS is not happy with the results we have to speak to the school to find out what was submitted.

We haven't heard anything from school either about what they submitted. Usually the day after the exams they open the school for kids who have done better/worse than expected and want to change their subject choices. Still happening this year, but over the phone. Fingers crossed we don't need it.

DH and I up, and on tenterhooks. DS sound asleep. Hmm

Alittlewornout · 04/08/2020 07:54

@IKEA888 will keep my fingers crossed those are the grades she gets ( or maybe even better(

Lidlfix · 04/08/2020 07:55

DD4 awake after a nightmare filled rubbish sleep. DD3 either still asleep or pretending so she has space Sad

Just woke up DS. Here’s the part where I hope he actually registered with the SQA to get his results by text He says he did. Cup of tea delivered to bleary eyed boy who looked very confused and wondered why I was waking him up so I had to remind him Grin

NotOutYet · 04/08/2020 08:03

Results in 8 x As Grin GrinGrin

Lidlfix · 04/08/2020 08:04

Absolute worse case scenario here. I simply don't understand Confused.

They are devastated. The results do not make sense.

My friends son had his tracking estimates on his report card at the beginning of the year but nothing else.

Hope it's a good morning for all.

Ffsnosexallowed · 04/08/2020 08:04

3as, 1b and a c in maths. Thrilled that she passed maths!

WeAllHaveWings · 04/08/2020 08:06

Well done @NotOutYet dc.

Lidlfix 😢

babbi · 04/08/2020 08:06

Wow @NotOutYet fantastic results !
Congratulations to your DS ...

Feel old as hadn’t considered results coming by text ... my DD is younger ...
Until this thread I was still imagining the stiff brown envelope we received back in the day !

Celebrate 🎉 today !

LizzieMacQueen · 04/08/2020 08:06

Nothing received here yet.
Hope you get to the bottom of the bad grades @Lidlfix - this process is so unfair.

IKEA888 · 04/08/2020 08:07

3 As and 2Cs in highers.
one different. from estimated .
daughter is happy! that's the main thing .

WaxOnFeckOff · 04/08/2020 08:07

Oh no lidl! 😥

Superjaggy · 04/08/2020 08:08

DD got 4 As and a B (Highers) Smile - as she predicted. Delighted for her!

Congrats to your DCs too.

Lidl I'm sorry to read that, I hope school can help to sort out.

cocopops · 04/08/2020 08:08

Huge relief. 8 A’s.

Alittlewornout · 04/08/2020 08:09

@Lidlfix your poor dds hugs to you all and get those appeals in. Your girls are lucky to have you as a mum you are so supportive. Have a cup of tea as it's too early for anything else.Flowers

SockYarn · 04/08/2020 08:12

DS IS STILL IN BED AND DH WON'T LET ME WAKE HIM UP!!! Or sneak into his room to look at his phone. Up to high doh.

This is way worse than waiting for my own Highers results.

ClerkMaxwell · 04/08/2020 08:13

AAB here. DD delighted but is going to chance her arm and appeal the B (considering a career where they do look at AHs and Alevels - god knows why). We will wait until school deals with more important appeals.

FluffytheGoldfish · 04/08/2020 08:13

3 As at AH. She is very pleased and rocking the NASA top her sister got her.
Remember to check UCAS at 9am as well if you don't quite get the results as DD1 still got her place a few years ago even though she didn't meet her conditions.

NotOutYet · 04/08/2020 08:14

Oh no Lidl sorry to hear that. Good luck in appealing and hope your school is supportive.

Oh @Lidlfix - it's awful when it all goes wrong. And when you're 16/17/18 it's the end of the world.

Alittlewornout · 04/08/2020 08:16

Forgot to say well done to all the results so far. Dont want to come across as a brag but cant doubt in real life Dd got 3 As in AHs that's As for every single SQA exam she has sat and so deserved as she works hard. Proud mum.x

BowlerHatPowerHat · 04/08/2020 08:16

How come your kids are getting As Bs etc?
The kids on the radio are reading out 1s 2s 3s. They didn't seem to know what they meant.
