Everyone looking forward to school starting?

DD is going into P2 Shock

I can't believe this time last year she was just starting. Now she is really ready to go back so am I Blush

We've to pick up the (gosh, I've forgotten the word.... custom? school embroidered) jumper, cardigan and outdoor learning stuff on Thursday. Hoping to hell it all fits. MIL has promised to buy her a lunchbox and then that'll be us!

Oh yes indeed. I have three going back to school and they are all bored chasing Pokemon .

Ok I lied, only two of them are doing Pokemon Go and the other misses all her friends

Yes! DS goes into 4th year!! My last child so only one more round of exams and higher and I'm done! Mind you,dd2 has finals and a dissertation wibble. He has been well primed that all 6 foot and size 11.5 feet of him needs to look out for the wee first years and help them. Doesn't seem 5 minutes since it was him.

My DD1 is going into P1 so it's mixed emotions here, she's looking forward to it but I can't believe how quickly this came round.

We've bought lots of uniform, it's difficult to know what she will wear lots of.

I'm still waiting for her logo jumper and cardi to come, should have ordered earlier.

DS is starting ante-pre-school. It's not quite the same, and it's only three afternoons a week, but it's another step up to being a big boy.

strawberry I can't believe it's over 20 years since dd1 started in P1.Shock . Think of all those years of parents evenings, school plays, fund raising and nits you have ahead of you Grin
Am so very glad to be nearly out the other end. If I can just get Ds to actually do some work over the next year or two we should be home and dry!

Not sure. I swing between being desperate for them to go back to school when dh are bickering and sadness that they go back soon and there are no more relaxed lazy days and last minute trips out.
Oldest is going into 2nd year nest one into p6 and youngest into p2. Time seems to be flying by so fast these days.

Strawberry - IME P1 girls wear mostly pinafores and cardigans . More comfortable and easier to change into than skirts or trousers .

And polo shirts if she has the option rather than collar and tie.

And clip on tie rather than traditional style

I cannot wait for them to go back, is that bad? DD is going into P4 and has been asking since week to go back to school. DS is going into P2 and he's just as fed up. I've got all uniform in, finally.

I need to get uniform for DS who has sensory issues (being assessed for ASD). Last year, he had a melt down and by the end of it, we were both in tears. I curse school uniform!

He has been really settled at home over the holidays, and older DD has also said she has had fun. I am looking forward to getting back to work properly, but not DS's behaviour going downhill when he is overwhelmed.

Good luck strawberry! Most of DD's class wore skirts and pinafores too. I bought so much and then DD decided to grow like a weed around January time.

I am so glad I am the not the only one feeling that the holidays have run their course... Grin

We still have over two weeks holiday to go. DSs are in 5th and 4th year this year - doesn't seem 5 minutes since they put on their first uniform though.

Another week to work for me and then DSs and I jetting off for a cheeky wee week in Spain before they go back.

I can't wait to get my DS back (2nd year), he's been driving me crazy the last few weeks. I'm quite enjoying not doing the nursery run but my 4yr old is desperate to get back to his friends, his 2yr old sister just messes up his games.

I've also got a DD starting uni, I wish it was Tuesday so we know what uni it will be.

Noooo. Definitely not. DS is going into S6. I will have to give him a lift most days - for reasons I'm not going into Grin. He is terrible in the morning. Also his Saturday thing which also requires a lift will soon be starting and as I only work in term-time I'll go from having a lovely leisurely day to being a normal person. I don't even want to think about it.

It's not the school/school run that bothers me, but I love free evenings, no packed lunches, going into work early and coming home early.

Packed lunches. I never have the right stuff in. And the morning nagging to get teeth brushed and shoes on. Dreading it actually. And we've had such lovely holidays this year. Just got back from our second camping trip.

DS1 is freaking as he's now S6 so this is his last back to school ever.

She said last week " I love my school and all my friends and all my teachers and I never want to leave "

You'd never guess if you taught her, she's the quiet one at the back of the class , still scared to put her hand to answer in case she's wrong .

I also hate packed lunches. DD obviously gets the free lunch but at the start of the year there was a parents' lunch event and I really was appalled at the 'food' they were serving.

School shopping almost done, last year of buying for 3. The memories of Clarkes for 4 still brings tears to my eyes. Sales assistants never tried to flog me overpriced gym shoes or bags though...

Mixed feelings about going back (teacher) love my job but have no me time. Also know that Sunday's will soon return to a marking and ironing marathon.

DDs have scarcely moved from sofas and have enjoyed chilling. DD1 moves into her first student flat and is very excited, been great having her back as she appreciates me now after halls for a year.

Lidl - maybe some of your pupils think you are wonderful but they just don't tell you

DD says that her chemistry teacher is one of her role models in life ( bless).

Perhaps you are inspiring some of your kids too
