Who has teens starting exams this week?

DS1 is now on study leave and has his first two N5's this week - Graph Comm on Thursday and History on Friday. He's finally settled down to some study although he got A's for both those prelims so the stress hasn't started in earnest yet. Anyone else?

Not my own kids, but my pupils do! I had such a lovely Nat 5 and Higher class this year. Advanced Higher too. :) Will miss them all!

Yep dd1 here. She's gt graphic comms too. Exam stress started here about last August. prelim results were excellent which has helped a little.

How many subjects does he have? I know it's different in different LA areas.

He's sitting 6 although he had 8 subjects. He's got N4 engineering science and a couple of N5 modules and he's not sitting N5 maths this year. Although he aces English and History, he has no confidence in maths exactly like me.

The current S3 chose 8 subjects and then had to drop one earlier this year and it was decided that 8 subjects at N5 was too much, DD is S2 and had to pick 7 subjects too.

DD2 is. She's more worried about her hair.

In her blazer pocket she has: mascara, eyeliner and concealer. I said, do you need a pen? No Hmm

Dd1 starts her highers on Friday. History, chemistry, maths, English and biology.

I'm stressing madly but she seems pretty calm. Grin

Dd has 7, her year picked 7 nat4/5s. She's got 7 nat 5s and pressure on, predicted to do really well. Next year s4/5/6 here will all pick 6 subjects and they've let her choose 6 highers which is a huge workload but its what she wants. She's reasonably confident.

Annunziata, myy dd2 I suspect will be like yours!

Mine both have uni exams starting this week. You think it's all over when the Highers are finished, but the stress never ends Wink

I haven't had an n5 class this year but had higher and have S4 social education so i see the pressure and anxiety in that setting.

It Makes my stomach flip watching them lining up outside the hall

Yes, one here. First Nat 5 will be Drama on Tuesday. DS will be taking 8 which I thought was the norm in this LA but after speaking to a colleague it appears not Confused

:o at the girls and their hair and make up worries, makes me glad I have boys.

No exams for us yet but DS1 goes into 4th year a week on Tuesday, DS2 goes into 3rd year but already stressing about 4th year as they change tie and the new one has a crest on it and he's worried about getting it in the right place - this doesn't bode well for exam time...

Dd2 goes on exam leave on wednesday she is 6th yr though and only has 2 exams 1 in may advanced higher English and phsycology in June she is more concerned about bloody prom. good luck to all your Dc

I've got a DD doing 5 Highers, starting with Drama tomorrow, then Music, English, Modern Studies and German. My Ds is sitting Higher Graph Comm on Thurs then AH Computing, H Maths and Design & Manufacture.

These are important exams for both of them as my Dd wants to go to St Andrews or Edinburgh Uni next year so she really needs to nail 5 As and my Ds needs an AB at Higher to meet his conditions for Abertay. Tense time.

DS1 is sitting 8 national 5s, his first isn't until next Tuesday (physics) so he is still pretty laid back. He is hoping to do 5 highers in s5. He is my PFB so this new territory for me, think I am more nervous than him.

DD1 has 2 AHs and 1 Higher but no worries as she has accepted her unconditional for the course she was desperate to get on. DD2 has 7 Nat 5s and is hoping to get enough to do 4 Highers in S5 - she's fine, thinks texting with a book open equals revision though Hmm .

Have 2 Higher classes and a Nat 5 to help manage their nerves. Then I'll start my SQA marking.

Might just have put it all behind in time to get jittery for them when the results are due..

Highers here for DS in S5. He's just started study leave today. First exam next Tuesday in Physics and then he has Human Biology, English and Geography. He's working very hard, but finding English tough going. He's hoping for two As two Bs, but is going back for S6 to do an Advanced Higher in Geography and two new Highers.
Good luck to everyone else's DDs and DSs! Roll on a May 22nd....

Another one with DS doing Highers in S5. Graph comm tomorrow is his first.
I just wish he'd stop talking about how easy they are to pass. I want him to get the A/B he's capable of, not just scrape passes.

First one here tomorrow too - N5 graph com. I've just been testing him on various signs, disadvantages and advantages of manual/digitally produced graphics I have no idea what he's on about But I do know the sign for a socket on a plan now Wink
