would you be put off if a 35 year old bloke still lived with his parents?

Having this conversation recently with my mum about someone who she said "it's such a shame he's never found anyone." He's 35, and still lives with his parents.

Would that put you off? It would me, but maybe that's just me?

Interesting question about gender role reversal. I think it would be a massive turn-off if a woman who was 35 was still living with her parents for non-financial/non-caring reasons. Same goes both ways.

One thing IS very different, though - a man cannot have a soft toy on his bed when he hits 20, but a woman can. Any more than one soft toy on the woman's bed and we're talking escelating levels of 'cripes', though, up to a maximum level of a man shrieking 'shit! get me out of here!' for more than 20 soft toys on the woman's bed.

I have a soft toy on my bed and I'm middle aged.

I don't buy the 'it's all very expensive so better off to stay at home' there are alot of people out there who have no get up and go. Even if you can't move out to live independently isn't it nice to bugger off and have a few adventures for a while?

The idea of moving from your parents home into a home with your spouse would never ever work for me. In fact I don't know anyone who has ever done that - husband's side of family they do it more.

I think if gender was reversed a man would be put off by a 35 year old woman who was still living with her parents.

I have a friend who is 27 and DP thinks that she is strange for still living at home!
