Things like that don't bother him, I might do something come the day but I'm not going out of my way to go to the shops and spend money on something for him.

Have I a cold and withered heart?

DH bought me a card, I made him hart shaped pancakes for breakfast, and we had a lovely meal - first 2 courses 3ish this afternoon, pudding and cheese will be spread out tonight!

I agree with not giving in to the commercial fad, yadda yadda yadda, but we are DC free thi week, and so why not spoil each other a little bit?

Good grief no!

We gave up after the first five or six. My birthday is in a few days, so I'll be wined and dined then (or beered and curried ), and next Sunday is DD's birthday, so plenty of celebrating all next week.

Me too tlv, apparently it's too much to get a valentine's card and birthday present in the same week so I chose birthday gifts.

I got Dh card and small token gift. I got a card from him. We went out shopping today and had lunch in mcdonalds with kids. Not exactly romantic. Know its silly but I really would have appreciated abit more effort. Hoe even brought himself a treat today but never offered me anything.

Made my DH heart shaped toast in bed, but that was it. We normally don't bother. We have a whole year to express our love after all.

we tend to swerve valentines too. It is so unromantic to be told the day upon which you are supposed to be romantic.

I did get DH a card though
" happy valentines day - you lovely old fucker! "

"hart shaped pancakes "

PandaG · 15/02/2010 09:43

OrmRenewed · 15/02/2010 11:30

Ahhh.... I had visions of you trying to cut out a deer shape! The antlers would be a bit tricky

awww.

i had the best day ever yesterday!

i got up to do the chickens and when i got back, i presented OH with the (very large) car i'd made for him, which he thought was lovely and he gave me my watch with a brand new strap on it! the nwe went off to church (and he remembered the tickets thankfully because i'd totally forgotten about that bit)
after the service he played me a Scherzo by Percy Whitlock - it was very pretty (like flowers and the countryside) and he's learned it just for me.

then we ran off to change for the cold, off to the train station, on the rail replacement bus to Gillingham, got on the train to London, ate our cheese and pickle sandwiches, finally got to Fulham ground and watched an amazing match; fantastic support from the county fans, but fulham won, (sob sob) then loooong walk to the pub for a pint and a couple of packs of cheese and onion sandwiches, then very long journey home (verytired), put the chickens to bed and ate rice.

very very lovely day, all paid for by him, and he even cheered Notts County on!
