feel like saying something nice about DH....

It is a bit sad to always hear about people's DP's only when they are having a bad time in a relationship.

It makes me feel a bit glum that the world is full of waste of time men. I would really like to hear nice stories / things about DP/DH's for a change.

I will start.

The best thing about DH is the fact that he is so loyal. Example, when we got together his mother didn't like me at all. It was really horrible. Anyway, he told her that he wanted to be with me and she was being unreasonable for not accepting me. I did not realise it until recently but he didn't speak to her for nearly two months, which considering how close he is to his mother is a really long time. I was really touched when I found out.

I would also like to point out that I love MIL now and we get on really well.

DP just fixed a blocked squirter on the car, in the dark and cold. It involved screwdrivers and stuff. I was impressed.

TrillianAstra · 03/01/2010 19:20

(Obviously that's not the best thing about him, but I don't like trying t pick a 'best' anything so I thought I'd just tell you what was near the top of my mind now)

Jamieandhismagictorch · 03/01/2010 19:20

My DH is just a really kind, warm funny decent man. I think my DSs are very lucky to have such a well-rounded person as a role model. He's loving and really good at practical things (like DIY) as well.

Jamieandhismagictorch · 03/01/2010 19:22

Trillian - I admire that about DH too - he's really tenacious about getting things fixed.

princessmel · 03/01/2010 19:22

Ahh that's nice AliGrylls.

My dh is fab . He is a MUCH better tidier/cleaner uper than me, he is brill with th dc's, very funny and he is totally committed to us all.
And he looks super cute today in his new outfit bought with his Christmas vouchers!!

I won't mention his obsession with COD, farts, snoring, not being able to do more than 1 thing at once....

starshaker · 03/01/2010 19:23

I did this not that long ago and the replys were good here

I fancy the pants off my DH he is sexier than ever and its his 40th tomorrow. He is honest and open with me and dotes on our DD 5.

He works hard and puts us first. I worry one day that someone will snatch him away. We have had our troubles and 11 years on are still going strong. I cannot imagine life without him.

Jamieandhismagictorch · 03/01/2010 19:25

He will be very chuffed I am talking about him (though more so if I mention the size of his knob and his prowess at cunnilingus )

PatTheHammer · 03/01/2010 19:25

Where do you get one of these clean/tidy/obsessed with fixing things DH's????

Mine is none of the above but he did try really hard and put up a bathroom cabinet and coathooks for me yesterday and id currently downstairs making me a stir-fry

Oh, and he always scrapes my car for me if its icy in the morning

squashedfrogs · 03/01/2010 19:25

Last year I had a really bad year and DP was there for me the whole time. Before then our relationship had been me doing much more for him but I really appreciate how much he did for me when I needed him to without questioning it.

TrillianAstra · 03/01/2010 19:26

I assume that's call of duty (the game) not the infamous MN poster princessmel?

AnyFucker · 03/01/2010 19:30

DH has just taken down all the Xmas decs, tree etc then hoovered up all the glittery bits

he then bathed ds and put the tea on

all while I MN'ed, sat here on my ass

oh, and I always say this, but he is tres excellente at cunnilingus

Undercovamutha · 03/01/2010 19:33

It is a really good idea to think of good points and deeds (especially as I have just posted a moany AIBU about DH !

DH will go out of his way to help friends and family e.g. if their car breaks down, if I want him to give me and my firends lifts home at 2am!, if someone is moving house and needs help etc etc.

I also smile when I remember that he moved to the city where we met to be closer to me when we had only been together about 6months. (Plus he's maKing me a cheese toastie whilst I MN!).

It is easy to forget these things when you are tired and fed up, so thanks OP!

PatTheHammer · 03/01/2010 19:38

LOL Anyfucker!! Is he reading over your shoulder!

My stirfry was yummy and I just remembered that he did all my back-to-work ironing earlier when I took DD to the shops as he knows I hate ironing.

Oh, and he has a nice arse

princessmel · 03/01/2010 19:42

Oh yes the game not Mrs Fishy!!

Mine is also lovely.

He cooks fabulous food. Did today's roast beef whilst I did sod all except read and play on here.

Took me on when I was a single mother with three kids

Bails me out financially when I have no money

Puts up with me being a moody mare

and tolerates my farts.

He is a saint as far as I am concerned

howdidthishappenthen · 03/01/2010 20:08

My DH does a superb dinosaur impression which never fails to go down well with DS1 in the post-bath, pre-bed dash. It's one of the reasons I married him (knew it would come in handy..)

eandh · 03/01/2010 20:11

dh and I have always disagreed about his drinking habits but he decided to start triathlons last year and entered a half ironman for May (cost £89 to enter ) I am so proud that he has cut his alocohol consumption by about 80% and only really drank 2 pints on Xmas day and nothing since (he rarely drank in the week but would binge at weekends) I am so proud of him and how focused he is on his training.

Plus he rang my Nan yesterday didnt know he knew how to call relatives and checked ot was okay for us to visit (2hour round trip) and drove both ways plus he promised to take the dd's to the beach (Nan lives in Broadstairs) and even thought it was freezing he took them to play and fly their kites and generally been a fantastic dh and dad since middle of December I had forgotton how much I loved him

eandh, that is lovely

eandh · 03/01/2010 20:23

thanks and fogot to mention declined a stag weekend to amsterdam because its 2 weeks before this half ironman, we'd already planned to take dd's away that weekend and for once he realised that we do not have a endless money pot (6 months ago he would have been adament he was going etc plus he is an usher at the stags wedding I nearly passed out when he said he wasnt going and had made the decision by himself without me looking like the nagging wife!!)

AnyFucker · 03/01/2010 20:28

aww, what a diamond

KurriKurri · 03/01/2010 20:39

We've been married 7 years. I've lived with him longer than any other person in my life.

When I got very ill he supported me every step of the way, cared for me loved me, talked me through the really rough times.

When he looks at my battered scarred old body, he doesn't see the damage he just sees me.

He makes my heart miss a beat like it did the first time I met him, and at 49 he can still chase me round the house with a cheeky grin on his face as if I'm the sexiest woman in the world.
