Everyone and anyone. I have tear ducts from hell.

RenagadeMum · 13/07/2009 18:32

Sob!

NervousNutty · 13/07/2009 18:34

Really ?

Hah well before I was on hormone injections for Endometriosis, very few people. But when I was on them it was like having no off valve for my emotions, which were mostly tearful. My poor male boss had me in tears for most of my monthly 121s with him during this period.

Thankfully since coming off them I have reverted to normal.

NervousNutty · 13/07/2009 18:35

I cannot remember the last time I cried infront of anyone.

I mostly manage not to cry except for in front of DH.

Nervous, do you feel like crying but you control yourself?

Are you afraid to cry?

HeadFairy · 13/07/2009 18:51

Just about everyone. I'm not much of a crier, but I have cried in front of most of my friends, pretty much my entire family, dh, ds, and some work colleagues. I'm generally quite restrained, but when I go, there's no holding me back.

tennisaddict · 13/07/2009 18:51

well, I cry a lot but on my own

occasionally my dh and the kids will see but I can usually choke it back

unless it is something awful, in which case I don't give a shit who sees me

NervousNutty · 13/07/2009 18:51

Yes i stop myself alot, especially lately.

I cry when I am by myself, but thats it.

I think I last cried in frotn of my mum when I had a really bad d&v bug and couldn't stand up, but that was over 18mths ago now and i stopped as soon as I started.

Oh I cry all the time on front of anyone who happens to be there - sad things on telly, bad news, someone telling a sad story, cute things, music......everything.

NervousNutty · 13/07/2009 18:56

I cry at the tv, but only if I am on my own.

It is dd1's leavers assembly on Thursday and I reckon I will chew my lip off trying not to cry.

Everyone , including ds1 teacher.

tennisaddict · 13/07/2009 18:57

this thread is making me cry...

tennisaddict · 13/07/2009 18:59

I try not to cry in front of work colleagues

In fact, in 19 years I have done it three times only I think

All for very serious reasons (I work in a childrens hospital, so many, many reasons to lose control)

Best not to do it too often though, as it just looks unprofessional, tbh

ActingNormal · 13/07/2009 19:00

Is it worrying you? Do you feel you need to cry and that it is having a harmful effect that you don't? Is there a main reason why you would feel like crying or just random things?

JamieJay · 13/07/2009 19:01

Only DH really, oh and my very sweet GP.

Hate crying in front of my mother, as any time I cried after the age of 5 I was accused of sulking!! She's got much, much better with age but I still can't cry in front of her.

I tend to avoid people when I'm upset / stressed thuogh which makes it easier not to cry in front of them.

NervousNutty · 13/07/2009 19:03

No it's not worrying me that I don't cry infront of people, just find it quite sad that I don't feel I can cry infront of anyone.

Having a bit of a shitty time at the mo and am probably in danger of crying in public more now than ever before, and I'm not sure i'd stop if I did.

I can't cry infront of my mum, not properly. The last time I did was when I was about 14 and she was leaving. I wanted her to go but sobbed all the same.

I'd be more likely to cry infront of my dad.

Xp used to tell me to shut up if I cried infront of him, and once cried inront of a neighbour/friend when I had pnd and she couldn't leave quick enough.

TigersChick · 13/07/2009 19:08

It depends for me.
At funerals I cry infront of everyone there.
Other times I tend to restrain myself if I can - tho I'm not much of a crier ... I don't think.
The last time I cried was watching the Memorial service for the victims of the London bombings... and I was alone.

LadyOfWaffle · 13/07/2009 19:08

no one, because nothing feels worse than someone whistling when you are crying. So I do my crying in the shower.

Hassled · 13/07/2009 19:08

I cry in front of anyone these days - am a pre-menopausal hormonal mess. Two of my DCs are leaving their schools on Friday and I will be blubbing like an embarrassing fool, I can guarantee it. I can't stop myself, so that choosing who to cry in front of thing is just strange to me.

lilacclaire · 13/07/2009 19:09

Recently broke down in front of my mum for the 2nd time in my adult life the other week. She was suprisingly supportive!
Usually DP, but really try not to cry at all (unless im watching a sad film or something on my own, dp usually pokes fun at me to cover his own teary eyedness).

NervousNutty · 13/07/2009 19:10

I don't choose it though, I don't cry infront of anyone. I cry in bed and in the bath normally.

I thought I didn't cry in front of anyone...I did in front of my mother, when someone close to me died, but that was in my early twenties.

Last week I cried in front of dp. It surprised me, I didn't know I trusted him that much. He was great.
