Are you going to say why?

kid · 16/04/2005 21:41

sometimes it helps just to get it all out.

munz · 16/04/2005 21:43

why that's happened lav?

lavenderrr · 16/04/2005 21:44

yes, dh has an old friend around and he's a really nice bloke, dh has just put Saving Private Ryan On on video which tbh I don't think you should do when you have a visitor, I think it's the height of rudeness, I enjoyed talking with him and Madonna mania is on, he can watch this anytime, and now I am banished from living room as I'm not interested in this....men are so narrow-minded at times and I prepared all the bbq food, why is he being so annoying

bit chilly for a bbq round our way

tiredemma · 16/04/2005 21:51

ive just caught 2 mins of madonna mania. tbh id much rather watch saving private ryan.
madonna mania looked shite, who wants to watch katie from emmerdale do "material girl" worse still G4 doing "crazy for you"? has the world gone mad?

like all of these " tribute" shows. i am eagerly anticipating donny bloody osmond thrown in somewhere.

id say your better off well away from it laverderr

lavenderrr · 16/04/2005 21:52

so am I making a fuss over nothing, as quite fancied chatting to friend all night, you can watch the telly anytime..?

OP posts:

lavenderrr · 16/04/2005 21:55

OP posts:
dinny · 16/04/2005 21:55

is it dh's friend? let them get on with whatever they like. Go and lie in a lovely hot bath or something!

tiredemma · 16/04/2005 21:56

true i suppose, if i went to someones house for dinner i dont think id like a film stuck on. it gives the impression "quiet please- im watching a film"
on the subjest of madonna mania though- you really are missing nothing.

Lonelymum · 16/04/2005 21:56

I don't understand why the TV is on at all if your dh has an old friend round. As you say, he could watch an video anytime, and if he wasn't watching a video, you could record what you want to watch and see it later too. I think friends are for talking to and entertaining not shoving in front of the TV. I would be annoyed too if I were you.

lavenderrr · 16/04/2005 21:57

that told me

OP posts:
Lonelymum · 16/04/2005 21:57

??? I am agreeing with you !

lavenderrr · 16/04/2005 21:58

he's been here since 4pm, maybe that's why?

OP posts:
lavenderrr · 16/04/2005 21:59

was in rsponse to dinny, the that told me...still find it so rude, his friend goes along with it, nice piscean man, would probably like to chat though!

OP posts:
tiredemma · 16/04/2005 22:00

did DH say to him- "shall we go into the lounge and watch SPR?" or did he just go in and put it on?
i think its rude, and its not something either i or dp would do but maybe they agreed to watch it?

lavenderrr · 16/04/2005 22:02

no he just stuck it on

Flossam · 16/04/2005 22:02

My DP has his mate up, and he spent the afternoon playing on his xbox alone. That was after rolling in steaming drunk last night, waking me up by puking this morning, then getting out of bed at 11.30 before disapearing out with him again at about 4.30. Third night home alone, me and DS both poorly with cold, left to fend for ourselves! Be grateful he is home with you at all IMO!!

dinny · 16/04/2005 22:04

eh? wasn't being rude, Lavenderrr!

lavenderrr · 16/04/2005 22:05

er no, if he's invited a friend around why shouldn't he be at home, am feeling well miffed.

OP posts:
tiredemma · 16/04/2005 22:06

how strange lav, guest maybe extremley bored. SPR is a film that you have to really sit and watch.
why dont you go and see if he wants to join you in the kitchen, he may be glad of an escape out of the "film showing"

lavenderrr · 16/04/2005 22:07

that's okay dinny it's just that I don't think the friend would ahve choosen to come here spend an hour flying model aeroplanes and watching tv for 2 hours in a short visit, maybe am being too sensitive
