Sex while breastfeeding

My DS2 is 12weeks. My partner and I haven't had penetrative intercourse since a good while before he was born, but I'm keen to 'get back in the saddle', so to speak. Problem is, my body won't play ball. Whenever we 'make out' (eek - please excuse this awful turn of phrase), I don't get wet (sorry!) the way I used to. The same thing happened after DS1 and I think I read that hormones related to breastfeeding may be the culprit here. Anyone got any experience/advice?

talking about sex and bf - has anyone noticed that after they packed it in the breast weren't sensative any more? i mean foreplay and all that. mine used to be great - best way to get things going and now they feel DEAD!

PMSL @ foxinsox's comment. If you don't want it to tingle your arse then don't put it there......

Dh did get a mouthful of milk once and even worse I think he found it erotic .

lol liath

thing is, in a moment of passion, err you tend not to read the bloody 4 page leaflet that comes with it

only after sex while I was busy showering my bits with cold water to cool the burning, did I read that tingle condoms have lube with menthol in them. MENTHOL. I kid you not. Who benefits from that? I mean if dh wanted to taste menthol, he'd have a piece of chewing gum. And if I wanted menthol on my bits, it would only be because I had a cold and accidentally rubbed vicks that was on my fingers there. It would certainly not be planned.

I feel I should warn everyone before they make the same mistake!

lol...that happened to my dh...before I had my first child...he was cool about it..it freaked me out...I was about 30weeks pg at the time, with my first, and no internet for me in the "olden" days....

oh fox, your advice then is to stay away from that tingly lube stuff...noticed it in Asdas the other day, and considered it for a microsecond, before chickening out, due to thinking I probably would react allergic to it, or something like that!

seriously, try not to worry about your breasts. They were/are also err quite important to me sexually but they did start returning to their former selves after a period of time. I can't remember how long and I can't compare to what they were like before and er....perhaps this is the joy of having children..we can't remember far back enough to compare how much sensitivity we've lost, but it does come back i think.

lol...you learn something new everyday on mumsnet......and if it is only which lube to avoid!

my dh can't go to pharmacy and buy a box of condoms on its own (usually gets strepsils with it...) just imagine going to asda, buying vas-pack chicken, washing up liquid, family-size box of ice cream and a tube of lube. you would get a few looks, wouldn't you?!

Report
paininthebutt · 06/02/2009 22:26

that was vac-pack. had a few vodkas...

oh no pinot, if she has sensitive bits like me, she'll be thinking less about an orgasm and more about which antihistamine to take
