A guy I was seeing told me he loved me, we slept together, and the next day he ended things. I felt used and was extremely angry, so I got my brother to contact his parents and tell them what happened. I later regretted involving them and apologised to him. Was involving his parents out of line, even considering what he did?

Seeing him for a month but he was very consistent up until it happened. Calling every min of the day. Coming to see me. Flowers and just being exactly how I want my man to me. Maybe was love bombing but i genuinely fell for him. We spoke about marriage kids ect

Come on, you are way too old to be this naive.

Of course you romanticised the future with him early on, that’s what everyone does, but you can’t be surprised it didn’t pan out that way surely.

Chalk it up to an experience, you had a nice few weeks together, NEXT

Italiangreyhound · 18/10/2026 15:31

I think it's fine. He was a prickly. You called him out.

Maybe he will think twice next time.

Italiangreyhound · 18/10/2026 15:31

Prick.

She’s 28, and she told his Mummy on him 😆. How can you think that’s fine?

Thatladdo · 18/10/2026 15:35

😆So you told his mummy and daddy how he wronged you presumably so he would get a telling off..

Are you actualy 6?

RealEagle · 18/10/2026 15:43

SinicalMe · 18/10/2026 15:26

Why did you want to tell his parents? Did you want them to tell him off?

She wanted them to ground him and remove his pocket money.

MyPeachBiscuit · 18/10/2026 15:46

Fine to tell them. He played with your emotions, lied to you and love bombed you, that's completely immoral and it's fine to embarrass him. He deserves some kind of consequence.

EmailsaysOOO · 18/10/2026 15:46

Bit late to be worrying now. I'd blot it out of your mind. Forget it happened.

Thanksforyourlackofthought · 18/10/2026 15:48

What did you want his parents to do? Drag him up the aisle?

Did he though? They only dated for a couple of weeks, where has he played with ops emotions and lied? Perhaps I missed a bit of the op. Sounds like he was respectful and nice , perhaps he did really like op, then maybe they had sex and he found something off putting . It’s on here all the time, following lots of rallying calls about life being too short for shit sex .

twolattes · 18/10/2026 15:50

Yes you know that was the wrong thing to do and please don’t post in italics

Marriage and kids? Only seeing each other for a month?

What he did was unkind but he doesn’t owe you a relationship just because you slept with him.

What you did was unhinged.

allthingsinmoderation · 18/10/2026 15:53

Whatever possessed you to go to a grown adult males parents with your grievance ?!
Completely unhinged.....

You’re about 14 years too old to involve your brother AND his parents.

Dollymylove · 18/10/2026 15:56

Why in the name of fuckety fuck would you snitch on him to his parents? Are you 13,?
Jesus christ thats just so stalkerish

Uricon2 · 18/10/2026 15:57

I'm trying to imagine the look on my brothers face if I entrusted him with this errand.

Failing.

What would have happened is that he would have told me to stop being bonkers, or ask if I wanted him to fight a duel in defence of my honour (or something equally disparaging)

TheLastSilverSaint · 18/10/2026 16:07

What on earth do his parents have to do with this? What were you expecting them to do about it? They’re not in charge of what their adult son does with his cock. It’s nothing to do with them.

Your response was utterly, utterly weird. You slept with someone after four weeks of dating and it didn’t work out, that’s all. Normal.

You’re talking about it like your virtue was stolen by some kind of seductive cad and your family now expects his family to make amends for it, like something that would happen in an 18th century novel.

The fact that you were talking about being in love, getting married and having kids with someone you’d known for just a month is weird and you sound very, very naive and immature. Are you really 28? Really?

I always think this. When someone has sex and gets dumped and everyone says that’s awful to dump someone after sleeping with them once, I always think “But maybe the sex was dreadful?”

I can definitely think of umpteen possible sex-related reasons I might end a relationship the morning after. In fact, I’ve done it because it was very obvious to me from one night together that we weren’t sexually compatible.

Dery · 18/10/2026 16:18

You sound very naive for 28 years old, OP, so I’m wondering if you have some specific vulnerabilities. Telling his parents was going too far.

Be really wary of people who love bomb as they are often pursuing a fantasy, not a reality. You always need to give a relationship time to know whether it’s going to be right for you long-term, even a relationship that feels very right early on. And a man who wants sex will often tell a woman what she wants to hear in order to get sex. That’s not a reason not to have sex (DH and i slept together after our second date and have been together nearly 30 years); it is a reason not to assume that the man deeply means everything he is saying.

Sounds like he made a lucky escape!

Your 28, you don't run to your brother and the shags parents when it falls apart.

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 18/10/2026 16:25

I can imagine mine Along with him saying 'aren't you old enough to sort this out for yourself?' in a very patient tone of voice.
