Hi I have been discussing with my husband about a girls trip but he isn’t happy about it and is saying I’m taking the piss as I already have 2 holidays with other girls booked one holiday is with our daughter also. He won’t give any other reason and we do have holidays booked together as a couple also. He got defensive and said you do want you want to do and also said illl have my money you have yours and don’t want to talk about it is this controlling and gaslighting? Thank you for reading

Sorry but what on earth age are you? If you are "girls" are you old enough to go away on your own?
And if you are a " girl" how come you have a husband? Are you from a culture that allows child marriage?

Because lots of people, including women, use the term girls for their adult friends!

But why call them girls if they aren't?

There must be something going on in society when so many women appear to be suffering from Puella Aeterna syndrome - the fear of being an adult.

Why call children kids when they clearly aren’t juvenile goats?

I have been on two weekends with friends plus taken the DC on a couple of trips this year. He has also done a couple of weekends with friends and is more likely to do regular social nights (he has more friends where we live). We have plenty of weekends away and longer holidays as well together. So for us it is pretty balanced. What is the impact on him when you go away? One of my friends is probably away for the weekend every other month with friends but they have a lot of family support with the DC so less impact on her DH. How long are the trips?
