@bananabeau the library is a quiet place to go and spend some time outside of the house that doesn’t cost anything. You can also use their computers if you wanted to look at anything you wouldn’t want showing on your history at home, and you could take a book home with you on something nice for you to look at but that wouldn’t raise any suspicions with your H. Art books are generally expensive to buy, nice to look at and read, and would make for a good cover story. Sorry if it’s a bit late and your day to yourself is over, but for next time?

Any family or friends who could help? Put you up for a few days or lend you money? It's easier for several people to loan £20 than one person to give you more. Unfortunately it's before payday for many & the end of school holidays so many are scraping by this week.
Would your employer be willing to give you an advance before payday as it's exceptional circumstances?
