I don’t use tik tok so can’t comment specifically but I use Facebook and have an instagram account which i mainly use for work.

my insta feeds/reels is full of semi naked women, mostly under 25. It’s very provocative but has nothing to do with sex, but they are using sex to sell a product , trade or service. The odd one will be a random twerk but I don’t follow any of these types of accounts, I don’t watch any of the videos , I ahem never commented or intentionally liked any of the videos, and I only ever go on my personal account to like the videos I post on my business account.

it actually got to a point that I was getting pissed off seeing them so I closed my account and set up a new one. Within a few weeks the same type of videos were back.

if I was in a relationship, and I was accused of following these types of accounts or regularly engaging in the videos, I would be really hacked off as it simply isn’t true. I would get defensive, and would fight my corner.

I don’t do Facebook but I am on Instagram and the algorithm shows me similar reels to ones that I have liked or watched even briefly. Recipes. Fashion. Fitness etc.
When I follow an account I do so because I have pressed the follow button. I have on occasion done it accidentally ( falling asleep ) and then I have realised .
The difference is that the content I am shown and accounts I follow aren’t of sexual nature which is why I don’t believe TikTok is any difference in terms of actually following accounts.

I don’t use TikTok much, but have an account to view the odd video I’m sent etc. I just looked at mine, I’ve never followed anyone on there, however I’m randomly following 3 accounts, 2 of which I’ve never even viewed anything on (Sabrina Carpenter and Joey King). The other one I’ve possibly seen TikTok videos from as it’s a local theme park, but never actively added or followed.

I’ve just gone down a bit of a rabbit hole looking into this and apparently there is a thing where TikTok accounts which ‘buy’ followers can end up on your following list without you having had any interaction with them.

Don't grow old with this guy. It's the anger that's the biggest issue. You can't enjoy life with someone who speaks to you like that. Really good luck with extricating yourself from this.

I signed up for TikTok for a nosey, had look round, realised it wasn’t for me and never followed any accounts or anything. Logged back in about a year later and I was following 10 accounts - I’d definitely never signed up to any. A couple were things I’d be interested in the the rest were definitely not (much more akin to what your DH is looking at, so defo not me signing up!).
Don’t know if that helps!
