How old were you and how long of a relationship were you in before you got married?

Married at 23 yrs, after meeting 18 months before. Still happily married over 20 years later.

We've been together 26 years, married for 14. We were in no rush!

Was 22 when we met (DH was 20), married 2 years and 4 months later. Married 11 years now.

Thats lovely. It's interesting to read the majority of people on this thread still happily married after many years met & started dating really young ☺️

Met him at 17. Got together at 20. Been together over 40 years. Not married.

Started dating at 22 /23 married at 30/31. Had first child at 31/32
Probably would have got married within two years if we had started dating in our early thirties

I was 30 (Dh was 24!) when we got married and we’d been together 3 years. Happily married 16 years now. Seems like a long time already!

I was 38 and DH was 30. We'd been together for seven years before we got married. Been married now for 22 years.

Met age 13, started dating at 24, engaged 6 months later and married 5 months after that. This year we've been married 14 years 🥰

Together at 17 (me) 19 (him), engaged after 10 years, had 3 children in the last 5 years, now finally getting married next month on our 15 year anniversary at ages 32 and 34 x

Met when I was 21 him 35, got married at 22, had a child at 23, widowed at 35.

Met 2nd husband at 43, got married at 50, was in no rush and happy with what we had, it was more that he wanted me to be sorted incase i was widowed again.

DH was 17 when we met and we were married by the time we were 21.

Met at 25. Married at 31. Baby at 27!

Moved in together at 9 months
Engaged at 18 months
Married at 2 and a half years

Met in the Novemember and married July 1st following year. Didn't last long. I was about 22 and he was about 20.

Met when we were 14. She was everything i look for, intelligent, sarcastic, kind, quite plain, ,honest and didn't i mention intelligent ? That razor sharp wit as well !

Book smart but not street smart she got in with the wrong crowd and made a mistake at 19 and died.

We got engaged at 22 but took 6 years to marry as we couldn't decide how and when to get married so eloped!

We'd been together for ten years before we got married in our mid 30s, didn't even live together until buying a house two weeks before our wedding. That was all because we wanted to save to buy a house and wanted "fun" before settling down, which in our case was lots of foreign travel, sports and hobbies. We both shared the attitude that buying a house and marriage could wait until we were ready. We were definitely "a couple" after just a few months, but it just suited us to live separately at our respective parents for most of the time and just get "together" for holidays, weekends away, etc. It enabled us to save a significant deposit to move straight into a forever home and not have to bother with "trading" up the housing ladder.

11 months together engaged, then 3 years until married (have been together a total of 20 years so far).

Married at 26

I was 20 when we met. Married at 22 with a 6 month old baby!

Still together 32 years later.

Met at 16, married at 21.

31, got married 3 years and 2 weeks after we met.

27 and 3 year relationship

Met 25. Married 31.
