Would you include a one night stand in your body count, if you wouldn't why not

So I recently hooked up with a friend, it ended up being a one night stand despite us having been flirting for months. We had worked together at the same job which I had left before we hooked up.
Whilst we ended on okay terms and said we were still friends, I recently found out from a mutual friend that during discussion about body counts, the guy said that he ‘doesnt include people that he’s slept with from ‘our place of work’ as they dont count’. my friend knows we hooked up so was quite shocked that he had said this as she knew this included me
Whilst a part of me thinks he said this to avoid any futher questions about who he’d gotten with from work, another part of me thinks he said because he genuinely doesn't include our hook up as having slept with me or thinks its worth including.
I personally would include it in mine, I would name any names, but he would be an additional number, and so do feel a bit hurt that he didn't appear to think the same.
just wondered what peoples thoughts are on this, is not including a one night stand in your body count normal?

OP posts:

Is this for real? You’re acting like teenage lads. And you’re hurt you weren’t included is his body count??

Brainded · 29/09/2024 21:05

Well I’ve never had a ONS…but if I had ever had one then yeah I would count it

NeverDropYourMooncup · 29/09/2024 18:34

What the fuck are you doing using a misogynistic term such as 'body count' for in the first place?

It's not misogynistic - both sexes use it.

outdamnedspots · 29/09/2024 22:22

Nah, a shag is a shag. They all count.

TomatoSandwiches · 29/09/2024 18:36

I thought that meant how many people you've killed.

Yes, OP is asking whether, when you murder your one night stands, do you add them to the list of other people you’ve murdered?

IntheVicinity · 29/09/2024 23:21

One of the many reasons why a ONS is so often a disgusting mistake. It should be quick maths for both sexes, otherwise someone will regret someone.

Honestly, sex, as long as it’s consensual, is often just fun, and at worst as ‘regrettable’ as a slightly dull conversation. If your ONS are ‘often’ a ‘disgusting mistake’, then I think you’re doing them wrong.

DadJoke · 29/09/2024 23:23

It’s a revolting misogynistic term invented by MRAs to judge women,

Marineboy67 · 30/09/2024 01:34

Of course a one night stand will be included if your doing a count of the people you've had sex with! Bit twatish to think otherwise. I was amazed how many women actually asked the number question during a couple years of Internet dating! It's nobody's business really but I guess they were gauging me by my response.

Using the term "body count" isn't normal. Please don't use it. It's misogynistic crap that fools women to believe that sleeping with mutiple men is fine, almost admirable. Spoiler alert - women are never the winners in this game. You're flying the flag for the patriarchy.

The argument that using the term "body count" is inherently misogynistic and harmful to women overlooks the complex and evolving nature of sexual norms in modern society. While it's important to be mindful of how language influences perceptions, labeling women as "never the winners" in sexual relationships strips them of agency and reinforces an outdated narrative of victimhood.

Empowerment lies in the freedom to make choices, and women’s sexual decisions should be viewed through the lens of personal autonomy rather than moralistic judgment. Consequently, rather than flying the flag for the patriarchy, many women today are actively asserting control over their bodies and choices, challenging the very structures that have historically sought to limit them.

Justice4Friend · 30/09/2024 01:43

Just 🤢

MarkingBad · 30/09/2024 02:14

Body count does not matter. I've been asked but I never tell, none of their business. It's always going to be the wrong number and is there to make people feel ashamed of sex. It's a stupid competition.

You can bet the farm that most men would prefer women partners to have had sex with 1 man rather than 20 but never consider the quantity of those previous partners. If you has sex with 1 man who has had unprotected sex with 50 other people that year, how would that be better than sex with 20 men who have had protected sex with 2 other partners each in their adult life?

It's all BS designed to keep you chaste for them, even though they want you to be good in bed and know how to give pleasure in a variety of ways, which is pretty difficult if you are inexperienced.

Besides which who is carrying a clicker counter on a night out or a date?

I thought that meant how many people you've killed.

Yes the people you have killed with your bad sex. Their bodies lie fatally unfulfilled, scattered across the sex tundra.

AmeliaEarache · 30/09/2024 02:25

“Sex tundra”
😂😂😂😂😂😂

Hairyesterdaygonetoday · 30/09/2024 02:30

Why are people so offended by this question? It’s not something I’d bother to talk about, but I can’t see what’s offensive, and I wouldn’t take ‘body count’ to mean people I’d killed!

My answer would be
Killed = 0, unless my cooking killed a dinner-party guest I never heard back from.
Shagged = somewhere in the 20s, ranging from one-night stands to relationships lasting for years and now a long happy marriage.

The phrase is likely meant to evoke a sense of bleakness, framing casual sex or sexual freedom as isolating rather than empowering. However, this could be challenged by asserting that not everyone experiences emotional desolation in casual relationships, and for many, sexual autonomy can lead to personal fulfillment rather than disconnection.

Quicker?

I've slept with 1000 people. 5 words.

vs
My body count is 1000. Also 5 words.

Ponderingwindow · 29/09/2024 18:37

your number of sexual partners increases your disease risk. Every partner counts.

back in my day we were taught that you are sleeping with every person that person has ever slept with.

I'm probably as old as you. If I didn't count one-night stands, my sex tally would be about half what it is 😂

New question: Do you include ones where you didn't have PIV but did other kinds of sex?

Allswellthatendswelll · 30/09/2024 03:13

He sounds like a bit of a dick OP.

In my 20s I used to keep track of mine and now mid-30s and married I genuinely can't remember! It's definitely less than Andi Macdowell's character in four weddings and a funeral. I know there are a few one night stands in there.

Some people on this thread are very judgey!

Garlictest · 30/09/2024 03:18

I've only got a rough idea what mine is ... it was all so long ago <tries to look sad> Every so often, when I'm doing something like washing up or cutting my toenails, I'll suddenly remember one I've not thought about since a week after I shagged him.

There were also some I'll never forget, for good reasons and bad.

StarlightLady · 30/09/2024 03:21

I wasn’t familiar with the term before l read this.

No, l don’t count. Why would I?

PuppiesLove · 30/09/2024 03:41

They all count. Even the one nighters.

I hate the term 'body count'. It's dehumanising. Every body is a person with emotions and feelings, not a conquest.

LBFseBrom · 30/09/2024 03:55

Why on earth would you name names? It's private, be discreet. It's not just about you but about the person you slept with who may regret and not want it publicised.

I've never heard of 'body count' before and would consider that my business, nobody else's.

Thepossibility · 30/09/2024 03:55

The only sex I've had that I wouldn't count would be the time I woke up being raped by a stranger, I didn't consent to that. Otherwise I don't think sex is a shameful thing to you need to hide, men certainly wouldn't.

Men tend not to talk about such things amongst themselves unless they're sleaze balls. It's not a question of hiding things, it's being private, and considerate of the other party.
