I’m 52
No dates
no kisses
no interest from anyone although to be fair, I don’t get out much
it’s weird isn’t it?
my husband died, but he was a liar and a cheat.

I wonder how many nonlibidoists are posting? Or is it the lack of opportunity?

Bignanna · 05/06/2024 19:07

What does that mean?

A quick google will tell you.

I did but you could have just said- bet I’m not the only one to not know!

Mine is a lack of finding anyone I’m attracted to enough.

If I met someone and felt a real connection, I’d be dragging them into bed but I’ve never been able to do casual sex and so it’s the lack of opportunity for me. The urge is still there and it’s probably the only thing I really miss about being in a relationship

Tarquina · 05/06/2024 20:40

It's been 7 years for me. I find DIY just as satisfying and much less time consuming and complicated. I wouldn't mind having a nice real warm male body in my bed now and again, but having a relationship involves much drama, worry, arguments, and other complications that to be honest I just cannot be bothered anymore.

Catnipcupcakes · 05/06/2024 20:42

I’m 52 and its been about 20 years since I had sex.

I never liked it anyway so I decided not to do it any more. I’m much happier!

Rebuildingconfidence · 05/06/2024 20:49

It's around 7 or 8 years for me. I'm married to an amazing man and I am 42. We have 2 children. We did used to have a good sex life but pregnancy, childbirth, attachment parenting and stressful life events / medication ruined it.

We do non penetrative sex about once a year. There are physical issues for both of us and the last time we tried penetration it didn't work. We are affectionate otherwise.

I'm not happy with the situation but he is perfect in every other way and we are best friends and soulmates so I tell myself it could be worse. I've never met anyone who could compare to him. He says he is happy with me.

I would definitely enjoy a FWB if that was an option but it's not. I have mad intense crushes on people regularly but never act on them. I take care of my own needs by myself.

lookeelikee · 05/06/2024 20:57

If there is no desire or attraction to the opposite sex then I understand not having sex for a number of years and is that a choice or is it physical? For example hormone imbalance.
Then there's the desire and attraction but circumstances and lack of opportunity get in the way or even cultural upbringing/religion could make one feel guilty for pursuing a casual liaison.

’A nice real warm male body’ - that farts, belches, sweats and snores!

AlmostAJillSandwich · 06/06/2024 02:50

I only started having sex in September, at the grand old age of a month shy of 34. Had been with my partner almost 3 years before we took that step, due to his lack of libido not mine. Found i'm rather prone to cystits from it unfortunately :(

The latter for me. I just haven't found anyone where the attraction has been mutual.

Paperblank · 06/06/2024 19:39

It's been at least 6 years (possibly 7) since DH and I last had sex. DD is 8.

I miss it. I did very briefly (for an hour) consider an affair, but my husband means more to me than just sex. We are both in our 50's, and have health concerns which doesn't help.

Just so you know, I've had female partners who fart. It's definitely not just a male thing.

How old is your partner?

Wasn't it strange to have sex with someone you hadn't had a physical relationship with for three years?

Wouldn't it feel more like being flatmates by that point?

I know, but men generally are more gross!

Maybe just the men around you...

Thats the thing. Everyone seems to think it’s really easy for single women to get sex but actually it’s not easy to find good sex with someone you are attracted to.

wavingfuriously · 06/06/2024 22:52

No sex for me I looked and still look very off-putting. Men always used to mention their partner/wife/girlfriend quickly if they thought I was interested...which I wasn't 🙄 so insulting..😐

No, mine is fastidious about hygiene etc, but he does snore loudly!

WomanInBlack78 · 06/06/2024 23:06

So interesting… I feel I’ve barely had sex and I’m in my late 40s. All the long-term relationships I’ve been in have been rubbish, very infrequent sex. The last two years I had two casual affairs through online dating. Again, average. But then I met someone I had crazy chemistry with and omg, first time I’ve had amazing sex in my life. Unfortunately the rest of the relationship which was on/off over those two years was also crazy. I think I kept it going for the intense emotional and physical connection I felt when we were intimate. It’s recently ended and I am sad. Hope I can find that again. Agree that when you don’t miss it, then maybe it hasn’t been great. But think our bodies forget and give up too. Shame decent men are so hard to find

VeryUnlikely · 06/06/2024 23:31

17 years here. I have a pink Rabbit which is awesome and serves me well. I am a great cook, work full time in my dream job and have a wonderful group of friends. My ex husband had a small penis, was a pathological liar and had a dogging habit. I am super happy to be free of him and wake every day to a new adventure.

Farting and snoring is a very definite female thing 👍🏼, ex used to snore like a chainsaw

I am 65, DH died three and a half years ago, wasn't expecting to meet anyone else or seeking anyone. Sometimes felt the 'Widow's Fire' but didn't do anything (apart from for myself). Too terrified/too old to try OLD!

But, I have recently met someone IRL (a couple of years older)and having amazing sex, also grown quickly from FWB to be a LTR. So don't give up!
