Card sent to husband by admirer

Naz110 · 24/06/2023 23:58

Hey guys, so it was my husbands birthday and he got a birthday card in the post. In the card this person has stated they love him and he is their life, sunshine and he means the world to them. Me and husband got into a massive fight as the card has no name... he is saying he doesnt know who it is.. and his conscious is clear. He believes someone is stirring our relationship. Any advice would be great! I think he is being honest but why would someone send a birthday to a married man!

She's already said he opened and read it and handed it to her

Then what’s the drama? He’s hardly going to give it to his wife if it’s from his mistress.

More likely to be some bunny boiler who wants to split them up. Or worse.

I’d call the police. If he is having an affair he will panic and try and stop OP. If not then the police have a recorded of it when she shows up at the front door.

He opened it in front of her, he can hardly do anything but hand it over and act confused, he can hardly hide it. She was sat right there.

I'd make arrangements to meet the suspect soon - both of you.
At a suitable lull in the conversation, get the card out of your bag and hand it to them and say 'what do you think about this? Who on earth would send something like that?' You'll know instantly if it was them.

Just as well I covered all possible scenario in my post then.

You don’t sound like you watch Murder She Wrote much!

@Indoboarder That's a bitter, vindictive woman writing in neat capitals in an attempt to be cleverly anonymous. I'd guess her at age 50+ as the card and poem are a bit dated. Way too much time on her hands and not enough social life and productive things to do as she thought this up as a malicious little plan and bothered to put her energy into it. He's not having an affair, someone doesn't want you two to be happy though . . .

What? I am a 50 yr old woman. We do not end a ditty with a semi colon. We would have used a full stop. We were also taught to do joined up writing in the 1970's. We also do not do the whole oxox thing.

GoodChat · 25/06/2023 20:12

You'd call the police if you received an anonymous card, @SeaSaltAir?

PiIIock · 25/06/2023 20:13

Seems like a male 35-45. They really struggled to write that message, looks like. Very unnatural and every single letter is pronounced.

So weird and creepy for someone to do this, this actually annoys me!

ComeTheFuckOnBridgett · 25/06/2023 20:15

@SeaSaltAir you would ring the police over a birthday card?!

Having an affair should be a crime. And if my husband was having an affair there would be a crime committed soon after. The police would be called! 👮‍♀️ 📞 🏏

Of course, I wouldn’t . But then again I wouldn’t be worked up enough to post on MN. We would probably have a laugh about it.

I didn't mean you in particular- this is an official criminal profile. I think they're using all capitals and a semi colon to put us off the scent. You're right though that the oxox thing is quite gossip girl, and there's been a reboot hasn't there so on reflection this could be a millennial inspired by the original show, gen z who might have liked the 2021 version or a boomer or gen x as the potential parent of aforementioned who has seen the xoxo thing when they've tried to bond with their teen. And could be a man pretending to be a woman. Not sure that I've narrowed it down enough to be an official profile actually.

RSintes · 25/06/2023 20:22

The way the y is written suggests that English isn't the writers first language.

To me it looks like Italian, Spanish or possibly Eastern European handwriting.

Does that narrow anything down, OP?

RSintes · 25/06/2023 20:25

The w as well also suggests someone who has learned to write in a non-UK school system

SeaSaltAir · 25/06/2023 20:30

Could he be using an introduction service for women who want to meet a man from the UK?

That writing reminds me of my grand parents age- do you think it's an elderly person who he may have taken the time to chat to, help out- a neighbour maybe?

@SeaSaltAir
The reason why I pozfed on MN is because it is bothering me, I cant laugh if off. Someone is saying my husband is their world.. I think its easier to say 'you would laugh it off when your not in my situation! I'm not a overly sensitive person, but this has got to me!

Naz110 · 25/06/2023 21:32

@RSintes this kind of makes sense because his cousin did not go school in the UK!

OP posts:
Naz110 · 25/06/2023 21:33

@RSintes
This is all making sense. You wouldn't have known his cousin's first language isn't English. I just wanted someone neutral to see the card and see how it pans out. Thank you

Naz110 · 25/06/2023 21:48

@PiIIock thank you, this has helped me getting down to who it actually might be. So I suspected the cousin he fell out with. And his first language is not English. I may be wrong but my suspensions are there.

Are your suspensions anywhere else?

I just don't think its a woman now. When I first saw the card I was going crazy and was very upset about and still am. But MN as helped me to see things a little differently. Hes never been protective over his phone and he keeps his phone connected to Bluetooth when we are out. And he got made redundant and has been struggling to find a job last couple of months, so when he had time to have a affair I have no idea(I dont believe this is the case!)
Someone is definitely not happy with us being together, and is probably chuffed we are arguing over this card!

Its a real shame someone would do this! But I'm a big beliver in what gos around, comes around!
