Has anyone else reached the point where they are no longer interested in dating? I mean in theory a relationship would be nice but at the grand old age of 41 i really can't be arsed with the modern dating culture. It's a shit show and i have decided I'd rather gauge my eyes out than do online 'dating'. Online dating, What a load of fucking old shit lol

Quite a high proportion of couples these days met online. It's successful for a lot of people. The fact that some people are jaded and think it's crap is just the luck of the draw. It's the same with meeting in a club/meeting through friends/meeting at a hobby group... it works for some, not for others. People with poor relational behaviours find it hard to meet a partner however they are introduced to people, and many with healthy relational behaviours have to wait longer than they want to before they meet a compatible partner. Don't waste time on people who don't float your boat is advice applicable to life in general, including online dating. It makes life easier, reduces friction, challenges, effort, everything. You can't blame online dating for your failure to meet 'the right person'. It might be what you're doing, how you're doing it, or complete chance. If you didn't meet anyone online dating, and you're still single, then you didn't meet anyone through friends, through a hobby etc either. Try other methods if one is pissing you off, but not everybody has the same experience as you.

Have you tried to pre-screen online guys? Like 10 minutes zoom chat before considering a date.

When I was dating and working from home I asked some of them out for a lunch date first so I didn't have to spend too much time with them.

I was out with friends Friday night and there was a group of men around my age there. We exchanged pleasantries with the group and was dancing right next to where they were standing (it was a bar with a dj playing)

I had to leave before the end and was giving a friend a lift so we slipped out just after midnight. Literally 2 minutes later, 1 of the men asked my mate where I was. She said I’d just left and he replied ‘no I was just building up to asking for her number’

Typical lol
