How does your husband say hello and goodbye to you

How does your husband greet you and say goodbye to you in person?

It's always me that moves towards him to give him a peck to say goodbye.

If I'm at home and he comes in, he just comes in! No hug or a kiss.

When he's going out for the day, whether work or something else, always a hug and a kiss, and an I love you. A hug and a kiss hello when he gets back.

If he's just going to the shop round the corner, probably just "I'll be back in 10 minutes", no hug and kiss required.

Shoxfordian · 18/01/2023 10:51

He always comes downstairs when I get in for a kiss or a hug. He hugs me all day as well really tbh, he’s very affectionate

Has your husband always been like that?

Tittyfilarious81 · 18/01/2023 10:53

Hug kiss and love you as he leaves the house , always comes to find me when he gets home to give me a squeeze and a kiss hello .

Fullsomefrenchie · 18/01/2023 10:56

God I’d hate that, a hug and kiss every time he left. Jesus. Quick kiss and bye for me.

Do neither of you work or do other things, that your sat hugging all day?

Trisolaris · 18/01/2023 10:59

On a daily basis? Wouldn’t necessarily come for a hug or kiss just say hi and bye same from me.

If it’s been a day or two definitely a hug and kiss goodbye and hello.

Bobshhh · 18/01/2023 10:59

He sweeps the nearest cat up into his arms and smothers her with kisses, tells her how much he missed her and then nods at me and says 'alright mate'.

CornishGem1975 · 18/01/2023 10:59

Always a kiss and a hug before and after work. Probably more of a big cuddle than a hug after work, but we've always been very affectionate.

I would find that suffocating

I think we shout a quick hello/goodbye to each other, no idea, really never thought about it

Shoxfordian · 18/01/2023 11:00

No we just hug all day, who needs work when you have love 🤣

Same here 😂

Hubcapdiamondstarhalo · 18/01/2023 11:05

I usually get a quick kiss whenever he brings me a cup of tea of coffee, plus random hugs/kisses through the day. We don't usually hug or kiss at hellos or goodbyes though.

CatNamedBob · 18/01/2023 11:06

Depends if he's popping to Tesco or off for the weekend really. A longer trip will be a kiss goodbye, a shorter trip generally just a 'see you later'. Coming home would be a shouted 'hello' unless it's been a longer trip requiring more emotion. I'd find it suffocating being required to hug and kiss for every hello and goodbye throughout the day.

I know what you meant, when I'm WFH, my DH will come and find me between his meetings and hug me. We'll also eat lunch together.

In the evening, we sit close together and often hug. We're both tactile. Doesn't mean we don't have jobs.

We actually like one another.

OP, what's prompted your question?

MickeyMouseShithouse · 18/01/2023 11:08

“I’m off, see you later”

“Ok, see you later”

Hes always stood by the front door and I’m always on the sofa 😂

when he gets home the first words he says.. consistently every day are “Owh, I’m dying for a piss”

followed by one of the following:
“Get dinner on then”
“My neck/back hurts”
“how was nursery sweetheart?” (To DD, not me)

Shoxfordian · 18/01/2023 11:08

Thanks @Amuseaboosh

All you need is love (and we both have jobs)

nattybones · 18/01/2023 11:09

I was a very affectionate person before we met but he never was. I was also very slim when we were first together and now I'm three stone heavier. I think gradually over the years I was starved of affection and replaced that with food without realising until now!

Alright sugar tits

Shoxfordian · 18/01/2023 11:11

It sounds like he’s never been affectionate so why do you think he’ll change? Does the relationship make you happy?

ScatteredMama82 · 18/01/2023 11:12

Always a kiss hello and goodbye

This made me laugh! I often think DH is saying something sweet and lovely to me, just to be met with "I was talking to the cat" 😂

He does hug and kiss me hello and goodbye too though 😊

Hedjwitch · 18/01/2023 11:14

We grunt," going to work" in the morning and "hi" on return.
35 years married and thats where we're at.

BatshitBanshee · 18/01/2023 11:20

He always gives me a hug and kiss hello/goodbye, kiss and hug to DC and a pat for the dog. If I'm still asleep in the morning when he's leaving he'll give me a kiss and pull the duvet over me because I always kick it off in my sleep.

MarshaMelrose · 18/01/2023 11:24

Leaving: I'm off. See ya. (Tells the dog he's in
charge.)

Home: What's for tea? (Summer: Does the dog
need walking?)

Hmm, dog definitely is his first love! Lol. But, then, he's a really loving and loveable dog. 🤷‍♀️

Sweetnsourtoday · 18/01/2023 11:27

DH will come find me and give me a peck on the forehead if it's really early and he's setting off at 5am (makes me feel age 5 but it's sweet).

Normally we shout obnoxiously BYE to everyone in the house followed by door slam. We can't do anything quietly.

We hug intermittently not so much leaving for the day farewell hugs/kisses.

Upon arrival it's what's for tea, who put those bloody shoes in front of the door.

Every time I say something nice to the kids/pets, DH thinks I'm being nice to him 😂and says why thank you, I love you too. We do like our hugs and zero personal space huddling when chilling out though.
