My sister likes Andrew Tate....

She posted a video on social media of Andrew Tate. He was basically saying the government and people in power didn't like him because he has influence and power over people.

I messaged her and said do you like this man? She replied she likes most of his stuff and that he speaks alof of sense around business and when he talks about the matrix. Although she didn't like his stuff about women.

I said you do realise why he moved to Romania and the reasons behind being arrested and that he targets young children on games.
All she replied with is she finds it very interesting how much influence and power Andrew has and that the "elite" people in the world don't like it.

I'm absolutely shocked. We both have young children. I don't get how she cannot see that this man is a predator to women and young children. I now see her in a completely different light.
I don't know if I can move past this. I myself have been in abusive relationships and I just think it's awful that my sister supports this sorry excuse of a person.

Would you feel the same?

I agree with you.

MiddleOfTheNightAgain · 02/01/2023 07:33

Christ. Yes, I would be sickened and shocked. She sounds like a moron.

midnightfirework · 02/01/2023 07:35

I'd not contact her again tbh

whoknew123 · 02/01/2023 07:37

Got to ask how old is she? Is she a conspiracy theorist generally? Does/did she agree with having the COVID vaccine?

AuntieMarys · 02/01/2023 07:46

I'd have nothing to do with her.

parietal · 02/01/2023 07:54

She has been sucked in - lots of people are.

If you want to bring her back from the dark side, you need to keep talking to her. Look up a guy called Femi on Twitter who has lots of short videos about how to talk to people who disagree with you politically and change their mind. It can take several conversations but it is worth it to get her back.

pinkfondu · 02/01/2023 07:57

The worrying thing is she doesn't like what he says about women but is prepared to over look that, essentially forgive that due to his other opinions. That to me is the part that would worry me most because is that what she would accept in a real life relationship herself?

WorldCuppa · 02/01/2023 08:19

@midnightfirework you would really never speak to your sister again because she likes some cretin on the internet? Really?

Littledoglegs · 02/01/2023 08:22

I would think my sis is thick as mince and lacks empathy and humanity. I would be repulsed by her and shocked we came from the same womb.

Yes if she agreed with him

Numbat2022 · 02/01/2023 08:27

What's her intelligence like generally? Is she a bit dim?

If she has a low IQ and has been taken in that's rather different to someone with high intelligence and a responsible job.

Is this for real?

People are allowed their own opinions, however much they differ to yours.

Confused

There are a couple of Tik Tokkers I’ve seen recently who have played really interesting content about AT - I wish I had saved them and could name check them. The first showed AT berating a woman - really horrible sounding. ( the poster was a man very anti AT ). The second was an American lawyer who had a montage of Video clips in which AT incriminates himself. So for example he describes not letting a woman leave the house because of some infringement. If someone watched either of those and still thought he was OK I think I’d mentally wash my hands of them.

Massive conspiracy theorist. I've listened to it all about how the government created covid to try control us and there's a new world order etc. I haven't said much about all this however when it comes to this awful man I don't think I can sit back and say anything.

It's not to do with one man per se. It's the morals he holds and that she is supporting these.

If anyone wants to look up the Criminal Lawyer on Tik Tok he’s called Bruce Rivers

Kickmedia · 19/02/2023 06:35

This is so wrong. You are advising the OP not to contact her sister because your sister likes some guy over the internet that she's never met or yourself. She said she didn't like the stuff you don't like about him. Are you perfect?

Tuilpmouse · 19/02/2023 06:52

midnightfirework · 02/01/2023 07:35

I struggle to believe how easily some people go NC - very sad. She's her sister ffs, not a random acquaintance. And she has some questionable views, she hasn't tried to strangle the OP.

Tuilpmouse · 19/02/2023 06:56

AuntieMarys · 02/01/2023 07:46

God, cancel culture really has plumbed new depths here. I despise Andrew Tate as much as the next person, but to not contact your SISTER again because she thinks he's right on some things is a very sad state of affairs.

AgentJohnson · 19/02/2023 07:09

She hasn’t sought your approval or canvassed your opinion, so I’m confused as to why you think you need to do anything.

frozendaisy · 19/02/2023 07:34

Or just say "oh god sis I think he's an awful human being, matrix FFS".

Jimboscott0115 · 19/02/2023 07:46

It always makes me laugh when people like him talk about influence and power when he has about 0.000001% of the sort of power wielded by the global elites. Noone is going to start a war over Andre Tate FFS 😂.

If anything he's more likely to be a stooge of the elites meant to keep young angry men in check.

nakeklak · 14/04/2023 11:22

I'd really struggle to get past that too OP. I'd go very low contact with her

Isiteveningyet · 14/04/2023 11:27

My personal opinion is anyone who is a massive conspiracy theorist and even thinks covid was created to control humans has signficant issues or additional needs. And you must be aware of this and that she’s not rational, so instead of taking offence I’d be more concerned about the fact she’s clearly vulnerable
