Am I wrong to feel annoyed? Him and his pals are all late 50s - early 60s and the thought of Dh ogling the girls makes me feel sick.
DH says I'm being irrational as women go there and its just fun.

Yes, it's really JUST about the food.

There is no way on earth this place isn't using the old adage of 'sex sells'. Their entire trade is based on it.

I think it's grim and sad but at the same time I would be wanting to see what his reaction was if I wanted to gaze at scantily clad young men....

And their age requirement to work there is 18.

It's a bit ick but ultimately it's just a restaurant, I've seen waitresses on in skimpier outfits elsewhere, their choice of clothes not the management, it's not what I would wear but it's a free country, thankfully!

Strip club I'm more uncomfortable with but unfortunately society is still misogynistic, business meetings still end up at them in Europe unfortunately (not in the U.K. thankfully) my dp is very uncomfortable with it especially as his number 2 is female but they ultimately need the business and the client chooses the venue. Not happened since 2019, hoping covid and recession has put pay to that!

I'd never heard of Hooters and had to Google it. The first thing I saw was that the term was a double entendre which referred to women's breasts and also to the owl logo. The whole concept is so 70s and frankly I would think that a bunch of 50/60 year old men going there were a bunch of pervs and it would give me the ick.

But obviously that makes me a prude.🙄

I don't think I've ever been to a restaurant where the waitresses arse is hanging out of their knickers shorts.

Agreed. I know many people that rave about their wings and say they have the best wings and fried shrimp around, so why not go there if you want really good wings/shrimp? And i've been there a few times and honestly the women are more dressed than the women I see out in public during the summer months.

It’s not about trust – I doubt the Hooters waitresses are going to try it on with a load of gross old men – it’s about what type of person prioritises allegedly “really good chicken wings” over women’s welfare.

Can't say I'd be happy yes I'm insecure at after 2 nearly 3 children pregnant with my 3rd also i don't look anything look anything like those young skinny hooters girls. The lack of diversity is shocking having to be slim to work there is ridiculous what about different body types?

Don't be daft. No woman with half a brain thinks that a beautiful teen is going to look twice at their old man. She knows there's no threat to her security. She's disgusted that he's turning into a sleaze and upset that he's trying to gaslight her about it. A bit like you are.

I was a waitress in a pub aged 17. I had a nice curvy figure. I was the subject of discussion between the male regulars and even the mayor?!, who came in for the pub's official opening. They were all talking about my t*ts. I knew this because I met one of the men on a night out and he told me all about it. It was all a big joke between the lads. Men are not going to Hooters for the chicken wings.

Maybe there are girls walking around wearing less in the streets or gym and good for them, but this is different, an actual chain of restaurants based on men perving on young women, who are earning money and doing a job, while the men sit and perve on them, it is vile sorry.

Ask him what's specifically fun about it and watch him squirm.
