DH going to Hooters

RulaCabula · 22/11/2022 07:32

Am I wrong to feel annoyed? Him and his pals are all late 50s - early 60s and the thought of Dh ogling the girls makes me feel sick.
DH says I'm being irrational as women go there and its just fun.

The girls only have to be 16 to work there in those outfits.. grim.

SlouchingTowardsBethlehemAgain · 22/11/2022 09:17

Disgusting, dribbling over young women. I would be seriously pissed off.

Melonapplepear · 22/11/2022 09:19

It's pretty grim. A bunch of middle aged men going to leer at young women.

Wow. That's shocking. Even worse 🤢

MrsSkylerWhite · 22/11/2022 09:20

“My DD (his stepdaughter) is 22 so it just adds to the ickyness.“

Particularly in these circumstances, no, just no.

Lullabies2Paralyze · 22/11/2022 09:21

At the groups insistence, Went to the one in Nottingham years ago for breakfast after a night out.

it was shit. Was full of old men by themselves. I’d wanted a sausage sarnie or something but hooters only did chicken and awful curly fries. I think I left feeling more sick than before I’d gone in.

also it did not live up to the hype that American hooters does…..probably coz boob jobs are harder to get over here at young ages

(fyi I am female)

forlornlorna1 · 22/11/2022 07:53

I'd tell my dh that I was actually embarrassed for him. Bunch of sad old men ogling younger women. Would give me the ick!

Same

strawberrysea · 22/11/2022 09:23

HoofWankingSpangleCunt · 22/11/2022 08:21

Sorry Op, but that would give me a permanent ick.

Agreed. This is so embarrassing for him, I cringed reading the OP.

altmember · 22/11/2022 09:28

The concept of it is a bit icky. But the reality is pretty tame - there's usually far more on display in the average nightclub.

IDidntKnowItWasAParty · 22/11/2022 09:28

It would be a deal-breaker for me OP. But DH knows this, and i wouldnt be with someone who would want to go to Hooters.

Notanotherone6 · 22/11/2022 09:29

It's a bit crass but I don't think there's anything wrong with men wanting to look at younger women, in the same way I don't think there's anything wrong with women wanting to look at younger men. The women who work there know the score and no doubt enjoy the attention. As long as there's no physical boundaries crossed then it's just a bit of fun.

SallyWD · 22/11/2022 09:35

Sadly most men (of any age) would find it pleasurable to gaze at scantily clad young women. Of course it gives women the ick - me included. I'd feel pretty nauseated if my DH did this. But yes, as unpleasant as it is, men will always enjoy looking at young women's bodies.

KettrickenSmiled · 22/11/2022 09:42

Honestly it turns my stomach a bit. They are too old for this shit.

Oh! Is there a cut-off point for when objectifying women is deemed ok for young men, but the middle-aged are considered gross for the same offence?

Bookworm20 · 22/11/2022 09:43

Thats really grim. And the fact they are going there twice. And for a celebratory event, so feels like they are going there as a little 'treat' for themselves.

You are not being unreasonable to find it pretty disgusting. If my DP said he was going to hooters for someones birthday, especially at that age I'd find it a real turn off. I'd defnitely lose a decent amount of respect for him.

I wouldn't say he couldn't go. But I'd make it clear how gross he would look to me and honestly wouldn't be able to say how I'd feel towards him afterwards.

Its absolutely not about being jealous or insecure or too sensitive or whatever else tripe men come out with to tell us we are unreasionable. Its purely the fact he'd be going purely to be oogling young women. As though they are objects put there for their pleasure. Because there are plenty of other fun bars he could visit if it was just all about the beer and chicken wings.

But it's the concept most PP are objecting to.

Or what are we dealing with here?
DH: yeah, you caught me - I cheated on you with a sex worker
DW: bastard! I am leaving you
DH: ok, so I paid w woman for sex. But is was disappointingly tame, not the horny reality I was expecting
DW: oh, ok then ...

Not gonna happen, is it?

cleanfreak12345 · 22/11/2022 08:24

Thread yesterday that mentioned a stripper as part of a hen do, nobody had a problem with that though

Don't be disingenuous. People did have a problem with it. A couple of posts in someone said "you lost me at stripper". Like no doubt many others I had a problem with it but didn't bother posting on the thread.

LaBellina · 22/11/2022 09:55

No you’re not unreasonable and they’ll look like a bunch of fools too, no doubt the girls will be laughing about the icky old men who came over to ogle girls young enough to be their daughter.

Melonapplepear · 22/11/2022 10:01

Issue isn't what is or isn't on display. The whole women being half dressed as a business concept doesn't sit right with me. It's clearly objectifying or else it wouldn't exist. And whilst some of the women working may 'like the attention' they are there for the wages and tips. So therefore women who are better off would be very unlikely to make the decision to work there in the first place. It's exploitative.

KateBalesCardi · 22/11/2022 10:13

It would be a pretty simple response from me, 'go ahead, but only if you're happy to give me the ick so badly I will never want to have sex with you again', because that would be the truth.

How thoughtful of them to cater to the barely legal crew. Fucking REVOLTING.

rickandmorts · 22/11/2022 10:25

I've seen videos of the new one that's just opened in Liverpool and the staff genuinely all look about 17. They look very very young. Disgusting that a load of men in their late 50s/ early 60s want to go and ogle them 🤮

SunflowerGirl91 · 22/11/2022 11:02

There’s a big thing on TikTok at the moment because hooters has opened in Liverpool so there’s many videos going round. Most of them are 18/19.

if a grown man wants to go to hooters it’s only to perv on these girls. They aren’t going for the food. Who wants to be with a sleaze like that? Ugh

DarkKarmaIlama · 22/11/2022 11:22

Twice before Christmas? Once for a birthday and the other for Xmas?

sorry just sounds like any old excuse to look at young women 🤢.

I agree with a previous poster… sad old pervs!!!

Choconut · 22/11/2022 11:33

Grim. There was one below the hostel I stayed at in Boston. The girls who worked in the hostel said men would even take their kids there for birthday parties. Happily bringing up another generation that view women as sex objects.

OhIdoLike2bBesideTheSeaside · 22/11/2022 17:29

I'd be annoyed and I think it really says what sort of person he really is To be honest
