I have been dating a man for 7 weeks. We have become close but I'm still cautious. I don't know why but he says he wants to kiss my neck next time we are out. I have not slept with him. I also don't know why he is telling me that he wants to kiss my neck. Is he only after sex?

Seven weeks isn't long at all, and some guys will wait and still only want the notch on the bedpost.

OP, if you don't want public(?) neck kisses, tell him that.

And if he's weirding you out, don't see him anymore.

He might well be trying to move your relationship on to the next level but, after 7 weeks, I don't think that means he's only after sex, no.

No, 7 weeks isn't long but most people would try and move the relationship on a little after 7 weeks, I think.

That doesn't mean sex necessarily but more physical contact.

But, OP, that doesn't mean you need to go along with it if you're not happy.

But it depends how much you're seeing each other in that time, doesn't it? You might have only had a couple of dates in that time. You might be seeing each other every day. Or anywhere in between.

I just felt like the comment "he is not only after sex" after that long was too definite. Some guys will wait a long time.

After a couple of dates (as an adult) you should be able to work out if you want to move the relationship along in my experience - if you are still hesitant then it's time to find someone else, it's your gut instinct saying it's not right

Have you actually discussed sex? I can't imagine being 7 weeks in and not doing so, but then sex is my favourite hobby 😂

If you want to bang him then make it happen. Invite him to stay over on Friday night, or book a hotel for you both.

Because I remember an advert for Mates condoms where you could hear a couples’ thoughts before their first shag, and the guy was thinking, ‘I want to kiss your neck’. Next thing, they disappear upstairs.

Maybe your guy has been using that line since the 80s. If he gets a Mates condom out of his wallet, you’ll know how successful he’s been Grin

It would make me wonder if he would state his want to do anything mildly sexual in future. "I want to put my hand on your thigh" "I would like to stroke your hair". It's weird. Neck kissing itself is not weird at all, I like it a lot. If my DP did it in public I would be a bit miffed as it's a sexual thing for me and would feel too intimate to be doing outside.

It sounds like it's a run up to dtd, neck kissing is intimate kinda helps to get you in the mood 🤷‍♀️, maybe he's prepping you that he expects to dtd.
I don't understand why a fella feels the need to tell you he plans on neck kissing unless he thinks it's going to turn you on.
