What's the soonest you've ever fallen in love?

I once told a guy I loved him after 4 hours.
I don't think I did. At the time. We did go on to have a lovely relationship, not sure it was love but I never regretted saying it. And I still think about him sometimes nearly 15yrs on.

My friend is nervous about telling her 'boyfriend' of 5 weeks that she loves him. Even though she feels absolutely head over heels. I didn't suggest anything but secretly thought just tell him, what's the harm.

How quickly have you said those 3 little words?

I knew I loved him after the first date!
told him on date 7, and fortunately he felt the same. Engaged after 6 months, now married, 4 years later.

I think me and my current boyfriend said it after about six/seven weeks after we met...but we both now say we felt it alot sooner than that but feared telling the other person. I think everyone feels it at different times and that's okay...you know when it feels like the right time. X

Sort of knew DH as grew up in small village - he’d split up from his ex a month before, I was living with someone who I wasn’t happy with. Spent time at a party, he walked me home. Kissed each other goodnight, never felt anything like it before. Woke up in morning, left my partner.

Spent all out available time together and knew within a week that we were.

2 children 28 years later still together.

Rubyroseyposey · 26/05/2022 15:22

Ive never been 'in love' but have mistaken strong chemistry for it a few times 😅

IloveJudgeJudy · 26/05/2022 21:50

Told DH first after a week. He was a bilt startled 😊. Married within 2 years, now three DC and almost 30 years married later, still in love and very happy together. Never let the sun go down on an argument and always treat each other with kindness.

I knew within a week I would marry dh.
Been together nearly 10 years..

Fuzzyhippo · 26/05/2022 21:57

Probably on the first date. But was very drunk. Partner now has never said it in the 6 years we've been together but I don't think I told him until about a year in

CoffeeBeansGalore · 26/05/2022 22:02

My now dh went home after our first date & told his sister he'd met the girl he was going to marry.
He told me he loved me after about a month.
He proposed 6 weeks after we started dating.
We've been married nearly 31 years.

PaintingClocks · 26/05/2022 22:07

After about half an hour with DH I knew I loved him, I didn’t say it until the end of the weekend😂. We’ve been together 6 years now with a wonderful DD and DC2 due in November.

RosesAndHellebores · 26/05/2022 22:07

I knew I'd marry DH the night we met. It was the same for him. We didn't have our first dat for 2.5 months after that because we were both with other people that night. Him a girlfriend of five years and me a heady fling with one of his friends. I ditched the fling that night. He finished things with his gf within about 4 weeks.

Our first date was lovely; I went to NY the following day for a week and rang him over the w/e. He called for our 2nd date when I was back. He took me to La Boheme and then for a late dinner. He told me he was in love with me on the way home. I felt the same. We spent the night together and have rarely been apart since.

That was 34 years ago and we have been married for almost 32. I love him more now than then. He tells me he loves me every night before we go to sleep and every morning when we wake up. Then he makes me a cup of tea.

When I first saw dh, I was hit by the thought that he was the best man I'd ever seen. I am irritatingly chatty but I remember being unable to get any words out.

I felt love for him straight away and he said he felt the same.

Everyday for the last 20 years I have felt sure he is 'the one'.

I had no idea it was possible to love someone so intensely and for that feeling to just keep on going, through the drudgery and hardship of life.

He has made my world wonderful.

OrlandointheWilderness · 27/05/2022 05:56

Within a couple of weeks. Of course it wasn't really love and didn't last.
With DP it was 8 months. I felt it almost immediately but I'm old and cautious now!
