Newborn, as awful as I’ve read? advice please

I’ve heard horror stories of a new baby. To the point where I feel like I won’t cope even though I always thought I would. Is it as terrible as people say? Is it lonely and exhausting? I was ready to go in and take what I had to but honestly the things I’ve heard have made me terrified.

Having a new born can be utterly lovely. Just lower your expectations and don’t do or expect to do that much. A short walk if the weather is nice is enough activity imo.
Orherwise just rest and potter. Newborn stage doesn’t actually last very long at all
