That is really. I have been seeing this woman for a couple of months. We have seen each other every couple of weeks since January and everything is fantastic. We talk almost every day. She is beautiful, interesting and I really like her. I could see a future for us after being single for a long time. The only problem is that she just told me she needs 500 pounds a month to pay her rent each month. She is not from the UK so she said in her country it is normal for a boyfriend to pay for things for his girlfriend. Is she taking me for a ride? I can afford the 500 pounds.

Get out whilst you can. A decent person pays their own way. May need help occasional for unseen expense like washing machine breaking but no regular hand outs. A true partnership is equel not one-sided. She will start with the rent, then want a car, clothes jewelry etc. She will clear out your bank account then look for some other target. I have a friend who’s only with his fella for the money. The guy is divorced & happy to bankroll. My friend doesn’t love him, but is living a luxury life style that he otherwise couldn’t afford. But, my friend had met someone else he actually fancies... It’s about to get very messy!

I am not sure anymore. I am doubting now. I was married for a long time so not sure how it works nowadays. In my time, no girlfriend would ask for money but things change in 20 years. I gave her the benefit of the doubt.
