Can they see I viewed their Fbook profile?! #Stalker!

Hi!
So I had a quick look at someone’s profile on Facebook and they then appeared in my” people you may know” list.
I’m concerned they may be able to see I looked at their profile or searched them! I thought not, but online it states there are now ways of knowing who looked at your profile these days? I followed the instructions and can’t see how to find that out on my Facebook account though?

No, no one can tell you viewed their profile. These things where you can supposedly see who’s viewed your profile is a scam and a way to hack your account and information. Did you give them any info? I would change your password anyway to be safe.

No, I didn’t give any info, just clicked onto the website. I’ll change it though.

So, he now is on my “people you may know list”. Is that because I looked at his profile?
I’m rubbish with these things!

"People you may know" generally throws up random people based on mutual friends or groups.

So interestingly, I could see a profile for them at all until very recently. They haven’t just set one up, it’s been going a while.

We have no mutual fbook friends and don’t work together etc.

Can people see if they’re blocked?!

Well, in that case then, the Facebook algorithm has registered that you've looked at his profile and added it to your "people you may know". .. Which might put you on his "people you may know". #areyouparanoidyet Grin

You can't "see" if you are blocked if you're not already friends with them or if you haven't had some sort of communication with them through FB.

No, all the stuff on internet claiming to tell youwhose looked at your profile is fake. However, beware as if you randomly look at someone's profile, they will, as you have found, come up as a friend suggestion, and likewise, you could turn up as a fiend suggestion to them, which could give them a clue you have been looking. I had this when I started seeing current date, I thought it was weird he came up as nobody in common, so I asked and he was up front about looking - fair enough, just curious and perhaps wise to check up on a date.
I have strong security on non friends, so he wouldn't of seen much anyway. When he came up as a suggestion, I looked him up - he's more open with his FB account, so I got to see more Grin

Do you have his phone number stored as that could be linked to FB?
I FB stalk potential dates and they’ve never come up on people you might know.

No phone number, but work email address and he has my home one.

Would I have been blocked previously and unblocked if I can now see his profile? Before, nothing came up at all.

Someone else I looked at has come up in my friends suggestions now. No mutuals or contact details - I was just having a curious nose!

It can be geographical proximity that causes you to pop up as a People you may know’.

If you couldn't see his profile at all before, and now you can, then yes, you were blocked, and now you are unblocked.

People who check out your profile do appear in your 'people you may know' list - and if they have no mutual friends, then you know that the only reason they are there is because you looked at their profile, or they looked at yours.

If he's not looked at your profile, he will know you have looked at his, if you appear in his 'people you may know' and he knows this - although to judge from this thread, not many people do.

If you couldn't see their profile, but then you could, it's possible they just changed their security settings so people they don't know can see more.

Back in the day when I tried online dating, if I saved someone’s phone number into my phone, they would appear in my people you may know list shortly afterwards

If you search for someone three times, they show in your people you may know, and I’m presuming the same in reverse

He blocked you

Then unblocked you and you have mutual FB friends so you and he will appear on each others potential friends list
