Best dating sites?

I realise it's like asking how long is a piece of string? But which dating sites have you found to be the best as I'm looking to sign up..

I've tried POF but found it's a bit too full of men just wanting hook ups.

I signed up to Match in September and casually dated someone but they turned out to be a time waster. Been looking on there again but it appears to be the same old faces or really creepy men 🤨

Any tips on the best sites please?

Tbh I think all the men are on all the apps anyway? Maybe try bumble? It’s not for me personally but you might like the women having to message first to stop creeping men messaging you?

I'm wondering if the paid sites are better with less men just using it as a hook up site? I've not heard of Bumble, I will have a look 🙂

It tends to be the same on all sites. Tinder has the volume, Bumble has less but sometimes can be better quality chats. Try them all!

Yeah I think you need to spread your bets but i would suggest only on the ones where you have to match first (so not POF where any old random can message you - although it was good for the lols as I remember)

From memory
Bumble - have to both swipe yes and woman has to message first (I met my partner on bumble and we’ve just bought a house so it is my favourite!)

Tinder - have to both swipe yes and either can message first - (most people are on both bumble and tinder)

Hinge - have to both swipe yes - was quite young skewed when I was dating 18-30ish - don’t know how old you are??

Match - think anyone can message anyone but you have pay to interact in any decent way… was quite ‘serious’ if I remember rightly

I tried paid sites once or twice, I discovered it meant the guys that had no chance on a free sites paid in the hope it would help them. It was seriously desperate out there! No quality men at all so be warned!

The key is your profile. Constantly refine it to discourage the types you don't want.
My tip to you is to register on a free site as a man looking for a woman of your age. You will then be able to read your competition's profiles. It is an eye opener and teaches you what to avoid.

Among my friends, the one that is thought ‘best’, or at least the least full of weirdos, is Match. The two friends of mine who got married to people they met via OLD were both on Match. It’s luck though isn’t it, I guess the more people you force yourself to get out there and talk to, the more likely a decent one will appear….

A work colleague uses POF and Match and said the same men are on both. All time wasters looking for a hook up, but she did eventually meet someone on …. Match! Took two years of dating though.
My MIL also met someone on Match ore covid and they’re living together now.

I would agree with this, I’m sure I’ll get flamed, but lots of the female profiles on Tinder & POF are really awful

It used to be free but I’ve not been on them since I met him-i had to wade through a lot of crap to find him

Well I just joined Bumble and most of the men are quite handsome 😄

I never know what to write as a Bio because I don't wanna come across boring but at the same time I don't wanna give the impression I climb mountains and have a super adventurous life!

I think it’s about giving a bloke who’s interested something to talk to you about - I had a list of likes and dislikes ( very lighthearted though - dislikes were salmon, marzipan, dickheads!) It meant that it was easy for someone to strike up a conversation that showed they’d read my profile.

On bumble, as I had to start, I always messaged about something in their profile too but always a one liner without too much over thinking…

I met DP on Hinge and since then it feels like everyone I know is also meeting their new partners there.
I liked it as you have to put a bit of effort into answering the questions and it’s quite easy to spot the time wasters based on their answers

Do you have any particular interests or hobbies that you want to share with your new partner. If so, try and find a site specific to your interest. For example I met my partner on Muddy Matches because we both have a love of the countryside. He was my first date and we are still going strong after 3 years together. But I did have to sort the wheat from the chaff 😆.

My favourite was Bumble too. After trying far too many sites over the years I tried Bumble for the first time last year.
I liked the way it worked (and also my first match on there was a success - we are still going strong and planning our future together).

I met my partner on Tinder.
Like pps have said, it's the exact same people on all the apps.
I preferred Tinder as it has the most people and the awful ones tended to be most upfront, where as on Bumble/Hinge they tended to lie to get matches.... I was quite selective as to who I matched with.
I did use it for just sex at times.
I couldn't cope with POF as anyone can message without matching, so the minute I joined my inbox was full of creeps as I was "fresh meat" yuk.
You need a thick skin for all of them tbh.

Current guy I'm seeing (2 months) met on Tinder and hit it off straight away, just have to swipe loads and have lots of patience. Was also on Bumble and POF, didn't have much luck on those for dates.

And whilst everyone says it’s for hook ups, every site has that

I think it’s the same everywhere , you just see it more there as so many people

Of all the sites I'm on and I'm on a few ,I've found the Facebook dating to be one of the best free ones .
You still get the same faces on some of them though.

Match is my 'go to'. It's the most gentle of the sites, I'd say. And I like that anyone can message you - I never actually liked the whole Bumble premise of the woman having to make the first step.
That said, they're all much of a muchness really!
My best friend is on Hinge and likes that. But the 'freebie' apps are no longer truly free. They have to make their money somehow, so often you have to pay to see who has liked you, etc. It's annoying, so you might just as well be on a paid one!
