Leaving note

In a few weeks I will be gone with the children, he doesn’t know and neither do they yet.
My plan is to collect them from school and take them to new house. I can’t sit down and talk with him so he will return to an empty house. What do I write in the note to say we have gone? He’s been abusive and controlling for years and I fully expect a backlash.

Oh my goodness! I can’t believe how long it’s been!! This new life is amazing. There’s been some pretty big bumps in the road but generally all is going well. The children settled so quickly. Christmas is going to be tricky, the children want to be here Christmas Eve and then Christmas morning and for once I’m determined not to give in just to please him and for an easy life. Thank you for all the support

I am glad it’s going so well! From what you are saying, your children are in contact with your ex. Good on you for standing up for what you want and I hope you have a fab Christmas.

you could literally do what aiden did in sex and the city and just leave a post it saying "i can't do this". or something like that.

I wouldn't be saying anything in the note other than "i've left you". Let him fill in the blanks. You don't owe him anything. And best of luck to you :O)
