What nice thing has your DP/DH said to you today?

To offer a nice, lovey-dovey thread amongst all the others about cheating, abusive, narcissistic partners...

What has you DP/DH said to you today/lately that made you smile or feel all warm inside?

I'll start. I have only been with mine for a short time. Yesterday he offered to give me a back massage (YES!), and as he was massaging my shoulders he commented: "You do not seem to have any aches and pains" (I am 45 and no, I have none of those). I replied: "No, I am very lucky with my body". To which he said: "Yes, I am very lucky with your body too!".

My DH hasn’t said anything nice for years, one of the many reasons I’m divorcing him.

MinnieJackson · 30/12/2021 07:04

Tells me he loves me everyday. Says I look nice when we 're going somewhere. He's actually just flashed me his Willy though so I've told him to go back to bed Blush I'm tired! Let me have my tea in peace 😂 says nice things about me to our three boys which means a lot. Just making sure they thank me for meals and stuff and tells them I deserve a long bath/ Xmas presents etc. He's a good egg. 14 years together.

hashbrownsandwich · 30/12/2021 07:27

Mine tells me daily how gorgeous I am, usually when I'm doing all sorts of my Dave tasks like washing up, eating my dinner etc. It sounds creepy written down Grin I do the same to him though, he's never sexier than when he's sweeping leaves or loading the dishwasher Blush

CoopsMalloops · 30/12/2021 08:11

“Do you want another cup of tea”

LagerthaofKattegat · 30/12/2021 08:15

Stay in bed I’ll take the baby downstairs 🥰🥰

He randomly says I’m gorgeous and other personal to me compliments. Says he loves the food I cook, he does nice things not just says them if that makes sense.

Mamamia1010 · 30/12/2021 10:27

Offered cuddles, thanked me for a delicious dinner and for doing the washing, and even though he was 90% asleep when I went to bed, still managed to mumble I love you.

ranoutofquinoaandprosecco · 30/12/2021 11:17

That him and the kids have tidied the house, hoovered and mopped ready for my parents to arrive while I'm sat at work!

GrannyBattleaxe · 30/12/2021 11:18

“Go back to bed, I’ll make you a cup of tea to take with you!”
He is a lovely, kind, gentle man who appreciates me and always makes me feel special and cared for even after all these years.

IcedAbstinente · 30/12/2021 11:21

DH suffers from insomnia so he was up about 3 am. I went into the sitting room about 7 am and his eyes lit up and he exclaimed; 'There's my Angel!'.

20 years and he says he loves me more and more each day. I feel the same. he's my best friend and we have each other's backs. We are both now facing major health issues and I am having concerns about his memory so I am happy for whatever joy we can get now.

36degrees · 30/12/2021 11:28

He's just texted me while I'm at work to say "I've been to Lidl and bought you some prawns".

I love prawns, haven't had them in ages. Very happy with that.

upaladderagain · 30/12/2021 22:45

He said "I love you Mrs, you're a good woman".
But the best thing is that he still looks at me in the same way that he did when we met nearly 40 years ago.

Workinghardeveryday · 30/12/2021 22:51

Tonight I said I really fancied fish and chips, he drove to 4 different villages they were all shut, so drive an hour and bit round trip to get me them without me asking. His takeaway tea was ready and ruined all for my fish and chips.

ImInStealthMode · 30/12/2021 22:56

He tells me (and demonstrates that) he loves me every day Smile

Bbub · 30/12/2021 22:58

This is a lovely idea for a thread OP 😁 I have nothing to share but will enjoy reading

SpookyScarySkeletons · 30/12/2021 22:59

Would you like a glass of wine?

Clammyclam · 30/12/2021 22:59

I left you napping because you clearly needed the rest and sleep - don't worry xxx

He's a good one!

OGenkiDesuKa · 30/12/2021 23:02

Was squeezing all my flab in the mirror and he walked past and screeched “leave yourself alone woman you’re beautiful!”

Which is nice as I had a csection 2 months ago and look like hell.

Musicaltheatremum · 30/12/2021 23:03

When I'm upset he tells me to have a cup of tea. When I'm getting agitated and annoyed he still says I'm the sanest woman he's ever met. He loves me

MrsTimRiggins · 30/12/2021 23:05

‘I’m so proud of you, you’re a fantastic mum’
‘You might say so but I fancy you more now than I ever have’ - in response to me saying I was feeling flumpy
‘Go for a nap, let me do the washing for fucks sake woman!’
As a first time mum to an eight week old, all meant quite a lot!

Tulips21 · 30/12/2021 23:06

Tell's me he loves me daily and we always have a 2 min cuddle before sleeping.
We do bicker often mind but a joke one of us makes, usually breaks the bicker again

Jayaywhynot · 30/12/2021 23:06

Not what he said but what he did.
I'm staying at my mums as she's just come out of hospital diagnosed with stage 4 terminal cancer, he walked in with a home cooked meal, blew a kiss at mum, told her he loved her, held me tightly at the door, told me he loved me and walked home in the rain (he dropped my car off at my mums for me) bless his heart

NeedAHoliday2021 · 30/12/2021 23:07

In laws are staying. Dh has today hugged me a number of times, said he loves me and he’s sorry, that he doesn’t think his parents are deliberately rude (I agree, just socially unaware and seem to think we’re loaded and I’m a shit wife). Dh keeps me sane because he sees it all and stands up for me. Love that man!

romany4 · 30/12/2021 23:10

I'm menopausal, knackered, look like shit because I'm coming down with a cold and he told me I look beautiful to him and always will...
Oh and he saved all the twirls out of the mini heroes run because he knows I love them..

merryhouse · 30/12/2021 23:10

"Coffee?"

Dammitthisisshit · 30/12/2021 23:11

Mine is more a doer than a talker.
For my Christmas present he bought me a massage table (I love a back massage). It’s a stressful time at the moment and I’m getting headaches as my neck and shoulders are so stiff. First he suggested I have a bath whilst he fed the DC lunch - I came out of the bath to find lunch done and cleared, dinner prepped, the DC settled into an activity in the kitchen, the fire and scented candle lit and massage table set up ready.
