Music whilst having sex.

The other day I felt abit rotten but my DP put on some music before sex. I said I didn't really like it as I found it distracting. I know alot of people probably do like this.
We did go through a stage where music was on but once it was Bjork who I don't mind but I just burst out laughing as it just didn't fit.
I've put my own music on before but I find it quite distracting.
He is also one of these sort of music experts and seems to know every genre. I don't think our music tastes match. So I'm always a little anxious about what I play. I know I should just like what I like..and he certainly makes it clear what he does and doesn't like. It's all individual though.
I don't think I'd mind but I'd like to be asked what do you want to listen to. It's always something obscure. This woman was singing and I felt as if there was three of us in the room ! Nuts I know...
Go easy on me I'm very sensitive due to menopause..

I've purposely not put music on for sex since I was about 17 haha

I prefer live albums cos then at least we get a round of applause every 3 or 4 minutes

DH and I sleep separately so we have sex by prior agreement. Sometimes when he comes in to dtd I make my phone blast out the BA BA BA BA BAMMMM from Barry White 'I'm going to love you' or, failing that, Pony by Geniuwine 😂

It's become such a standing joke between us that now I just send him a picture of Barry when I'm feeling open to gentlemen callers.

A couple of tracks spring to mind. One romantic, the other not so much

Same as Mabelface, I cant stand music during sex and love it ordinarily. I think I can trace it back to a previous GF, from when I was about 18, who insisted on Whams greatest hits while DTD. Not sure what she was thinking! Grin
Ew. Flashback to older guy when I was 18, playing "Careless Whisper" and turning his smoulder face on me

@Dillydollydingdong

My DP listens to music on his earphones all night. He's tried playing it aloud but it keeps me awake. Luckily he doesn't play music while we are dtd. I'd find it too distracting.
I started reading your post and thought you were going to say he wear earphones while you're having sex Grin That would be weird

I was head over heels in lust with a guy once, on the bed. Remote control button pressed, bloody Celine Dion. Fuck me! Worst shag ever. Then proceeds to tell me that the Celine is indicative of the love he feels for me.

No. No. No.

ItsAlwaysThere · 04/11/2021 17:50

Certain music makes me really horny so yes, I love it with music but more often than not it's without.

MarshmallowSwede · 04/11/2021 18:02

I definitely wouldn’t want to hear Bjork while having sex. I like her.. but I don’t want to hear her during my sexy time.

DeltaAlphaDelta · 04/11/2021 19:38

I've not been able to hear it with a straight face since!

Glassofshloer · 04/11/2021 19:43

Haha nooo! My boyfriend when we were 16 used to play Blink 182 at top volume so his parents couldn’t hear anything Grin but now it would feel a bit weird, I mean if it’s a random playlist you could be in for all kinds of trouble - imagine if something really sad & horrific came on.

Courtier · 04/11/2021 21:18

The only music tthat works with Dec is R&B 😂

kwiksavenofrillsusername · 04/11/2021 23:47

Ha, when you said Dec I assumed you meant Ant and Dec and was imagining DTD to the sounds of Let’s Get Ready to Rumble.

RosesAndHellebores · 04/11/2021 23:56

Lifetimes ago, I remember the radio being on, a very romantic and heady moment - only to be broken by Captain Beaky. At least we were young, in love, and laughed like drains.

StarlightLady · 05/11/2021 06:47

I think most people who have sex with music on do so because they had children in the house.

This is a good point. We often put something like Ash vs Evil Dead on in the background. The sound of chainsaws and screaming is enough to stop anyone visiting us during an orgasm! Grin
