Hot desperate housewives gardener neighbour

Hello all Smile

I have a rather lovely neighbour who lives around the corner from me, literally we are about 6 houses apart,

Both of us are in our 40's, and I 'think' he is single, he is gorgeous and from the limited interaction I've had with him he seems like a nice guy. I've noticed he looks at my houses when I've caught him driving by.

I was thinking of trying tinder to see if he is on there by limiting the search area to 5 miles (can I even do that 😂)

Otherwise I don't know how to approach him?! I don't want to knock on the door randomly, I'd be mortified 😂 he is a gardener of some sort, so I could pop a note on his van?!

I have a 6 year old, he has seen me with her and I'm sure he knows I'm on my own.

Any advice? At my age I don't want to leg opportunity's pass, but also I live around the corner and don't want to face rejection 😬

x

Hopefully she's too busy having great sex with the hot gardener!
sunflowergirl1 · 07/11/2021 08:18

Lol@PooWillyNameChange

Yes hope so....an update like "walking away from his house bow legged" would be fun

Cherryblossom200 · 07/11/2021 08:20

Ha ha! No I ended up going trick or treating at a friends 😂 totally missed the opportunity.

However I've found the red Citroen belongs to a woman who definitely doesn't look like his partner, I've been told by my neighbour the house is split into two flats. So I have a strong feeling he is single 👍

Now I need to find another excuse to chat to him! I see him most mornings in his van drive past. So annoying!

@Cherryblossom200 do you have a cat?? I would pop round and knock asking if he has seen our cat who obviously hasn’t been home for a couple
of days 😁 I’m not sure about the note.. You deffo need an excuse to knock on the door and give him your address so he can reciprocate if he likes. I would start with the cat as an initial excuse to see where he lives and who answers the door etc.. if it’s him, I’d ask if he does gardening and if yes could he help you with a project you have or some advice etc.. good luck do let us know how you get on! X

Cherryblossom200 · 07/11/2021 08:28

Yes!! I have a cat!!! Brilliant idea, I love this 😀 Ok, give me a few days and I'll summon up the courage!

@ArranMumma

Have you ever heard his voice by the way? The amount of times I’ve thought a guy was attractive in a bar and then immediately got The Ick after hearing his voice! Be careful!
@ArranMumma This.

This, because if you settle down with him (but premature, I know), that's the voice you'll hearing for the next few decades.

Billlius · 07/11/2021 08:43

Yes, David Beckham v David Beckham.

Cherryblossom200 · 07/11/2021 08:54

😂😂 so true! Only heard him speak a bit so it's hard to tell x

IslaPineappple · 07/11/2021 09:37

Knock and say you've heard he's good with his hands and you need help with something Grin

froggy1811 · 07/11/2021 10:05

Haha! Thank you OP for making me smile more than I have done for a long time! This scenario totes feels like a romcom - or something from People's Friend! I haven't rooted for a couple so much since Kylie and Jason! 😂

Do you ever get any time off work? If so, I would use my time wisely! Try discreetly vetting his house more intently (don't worry about coming across as a 'stalker' - it was all perfectly fine in Twilight!) Just see what you can see! Then, once you're familiar with his 'movements' engineer it so that you will be walking past just as he returns home, or will be working on the gardens (start taking note of the length of the grass! Lol) then, once you have the opportunity, just ask him if he's a gardener. If he says yes, then ask for his fares - making sure you have a plant based dilemma up your sleeve! If he says yes then you're in! If he says no, then atleast it was a conversation starter!

Please, please keep us updated whatever the case...

froggy1811 · 07/11/2021 10:14

Also, I wouldn't go with a note! Not unless you're gonna post it through his front door. Notes can get blown away or just chucked away - especially if he doesn't realise it was penned by his future wife!

Cherryblossom200 · 07/11/2021 16:16

Froggy that's so lovely and glad I've made you smile 😊

I've noticed he does go out in the evenings after work sometimes. He is fairly buff so I think maybe he goes to the gym. But also could be going to see his gf.

But...I actually forgot to mention something important..I can see part of the back of his house. The top of the houses windows to be specific. So I can sort of spy. However, I'm not sure if his flat is the top of the house. I would have to study the house one evening to see if I can see him, and frankly I've got better things to do 😂😂😂

@Cherryblossom200 oh I’m so glad you gave a cat!! Somehow I just thought you might 😉 I’m sure he/she wanders off regularly!? Take a little pic of your kitty round, write your name, house no. & mobile on it.. if your kitty’s a boy, drop in that he’s the man of the house 😆 if he’s single & a bit ballsy he hopefully will message and see if you found him/her. Let us know how you get on..😁

froggy1811 · 07/11/2021 22:56

Didn't you say he goes to the same park as you OP? Couldn't you kind of discreetly follow him there and bump into him accidentally on purpose?!

You could act suprised, and be like "fancy seeing you here!" OR "Aren't we neighbours? Your face looks familiar..." Or whatever line you can come up with! Hopefully, yours will be much less cheesy than mine! 😂 And you never know, he might actually approach you first! (Getting --indentations- through- crossing- my - fingers - so - tight!) Lol

You could even say that you're in there looking for your cat, and he might offer to help! Although, if you take your daughter along she'll need to know not to let the 'cat out of the bag!' haha

froggy1811 · 15/11/2021 11:09

Would love an update on this! 😃

FOJN · 15/11/2021 11:20

Have yo googled "gardeners in my area", he might have an online listing with a "contact me" option or a telephone number. You could use that to contact him in complete "ignorance".

Definitely worth checking!
Cherryblossom200 · 16/11/2021 13:00

No sorry, no update! I walked last his house over the weekend and see him daily in his van. But no opportunity to talk to him. I don't think I've got the guts to just knock on his door!

@StartingAgain6369

As a male I would love a female to come up and start chatting, if he's a gardener ask him for some gardening ideas, plants, lawncare anything to get the conversation going and take it from there!
I agree. It would be lovely to be approached by a woman. Go for it.
Cherryblossom200 · 16/11/2021 15:58

I'll do it one day, in just trying to find the right opportunity! I swear I'm going to be single forever at this rate 😂

OP posts:
Cherryblossom200 · 17/11/2021 11:56

Ok. I'm wfh today and seen him head back home with his van. So he is home.

I'm feel courageous today...so I might try the lost cat story?!?! Sound good???

Cherryblossom200 · 17/11/2021 11:56

Or am I going to sound like a crazy cat lady?!

OP posts:
TatianaBis · 17/11/2021 12:01

Don’t bother with the cat story - it’s crap.

Just find something in the garden you genuinely need doing and leave a brief note on his van.

YES!!!! I'm so sorry to bother you, you haven't seen my cat have you? She has been known to sleep in the odd van engine when it gets cold... oh do you have a van? I don't suppose it would be worth looking.... Is it a work van? What is it you do? Oh a gardener! Do you know I've been thinking of having someone round for some work....do you do weekends? Perhaps I could give you a call to arrange something....
